But if you want my take on the OPs intent it's not that they're catering to the ERP crowd with these patches, it's just that there's so little to do the ERP scene seems to be one of the things surviving pretty well. So it's hyperbole on their part. So in that sense we are in agreement the game isn't all about that.

I hate to agree with this, but it's true.

I mean the ShB story literally has you dancing near poles(can't dance around them like the npcs). That doesn't have to equal out to ERP though. There may be some sexual related themes within the story(MSQ and side quests), but that doesn't mean you necessarily have to start ERPing on the spot or whatever.

I feel like a lot of people are ignoring that there's some boundaries here.

This is the exact same mindset of that whole "pokemon and harry potter are the devil" fear craze back in the late 90's and early 2000s where concerned parents blamed vidya gaems in fear of their children turning into ne'er do wells.

I never said it wasn't a portion of it, way to twist my words to fit your narrative. I literally said: At least acknowledge that it isn't *ALL* just 18+ mods that are created. I'm not delusional about the size, I'm just making it clear that there's more to the modding community and it honestly shows how little you know about it if you're assuming the entire community is out there solely making 18+ mods and trying to push forward on some sort of crusade to turn the entire game into a pron game.

It's a part of the game now whether people like it or not and Square has no interest in trying to stop it because they realize the benefits of it as well. Personally I think the real culprit isnt even one or the other but ultimately the pandemic. The club scene exploded when that happened and ERP related venues grew since people still wanted a place to go out, party and do all the things people are complaining about now that they couldnt get in person. The modding scene also grew to keep up with the change in landscape. Now it's too late to revert back to how it was a few years ago because people realized how much sex actually sells and DJs can profit off their Twitch for playing at those clubs.

Were literally going to get flooded with club items soon from what I saw with the design contest and that to me is more of a sign of their approval. Get over it and stop demonizing a community that honestly tries to help make the game better. If you don't like the 18+ mods, cool. Then ignore them and go about your day because you can't see them anyway unless you're installing them yourself or existing on Twitter (which you should get off anyway for your own mental sanity).

What exactly is the problem? That adults want to be adults in a game that involves adults? That sex sells in general? That sexual mods exist at all?

First one is something that neither you or I can stop. That's just a reality of life and you kinda gotta accept that. If we're worried about the children, that's their parents job to monitor their kids activities and for the adults to be sure that who they're engaging with is an adult. Point blank period. I am not going to babysit someone else's child nor is it my job to unless I'm being paid by the parent to babysit their kid lol. My only job is to make sure that who I engage with is an adult via ID checking and speaking to/videoing them directly for extra confirmation.

The second is another reality of the world that's existed since the 1800s with the invention of photography. Unless by some act of god the pron industry implodes in on itself and all sexual related materials vanish off the internet forever, it isn't going to change.

The third is something that is a part of gaming itself (Do I even need to point you in the direction of the extensive genre of dating sims/pron games that have existed since 1981?). 14 didn't pioneer the sexual genre of gaming nor did it even pioneer sexual mods and you're delusional if you think it did. If it's annoying for you, that's valid, but then worry about yourself and blocking out the things that bother you. That's literally the only thing you can control here. Square has shown no sign of trying to stop or take down anything relating to modding so at this point, like I said, do what you have to do to block it out so it doesn't bother you. If the day comes that they install anti-cheat and wipe it from the face of the game, then the arguments of it being a problem would hold stronger in my opinion.

Maybe I just don't see people doing what makes them happy a problem (unless it involves paedophilia, murder or physically/mentally harming another person to the point that it creates trauma). If that's a problem to you then fair enough but I question who is the more grown up one here at that point.
