damn.Ah yes, providing hats for Vieras and Hroth is definitely sexual in nature.
Providing recolors of already in game items is definitely sexual in nature.
Providing vfx redesigns of class skills is definitely sexual in nature.
Providing UI redesigns so it doesn't look as horrendous is definitely sexual in nature.
Recoloring mounts is definitely sexual in nature.
Yep.
If we're gonna throw people under a bus, at least recognize that there are more than just 18+ mods that people make.
nice micdrop.

Went to one a year ago, realized it's literally just sitting and talking and watching the same dancing animations, never went to another again.
Doesn't really bother me, so I don't care, as long as they're all having fun I guess.
technically there's roleplay via /tell and in linkshells at them but honestly if a communication medium exists, someone'll use it to be horny so there's no real point in attempting to stop it.
square's also cracked down on them linking to porn sites and discords via /shout which means square is taking action. it's just... y'know. not much you can do if people are doing it via /tell.
either way that's all it really is. just... people being weird and using emotes. boring as hell, imo. you get the same experience in limsa so i don't really see the point in going to someone's house for it. but uh, all the more power to them i guess.
So all of a sudden them adding an already existing world item for purchase, which you still cant even do the pole dance with, is somehow them focusing more on the erp scene than the actual game itself.
You people are just really trying to dig the bottom of that sad barrel with these weak ass arguments huh.
"B-b-but the modding community provided all of these nice qol features for us! They can do no wrong! All that popular pornographic and IMVU style modding is only like...the smallest percentage"Ah yes, providing hats for Vieras and Hroth is definitely sexual in nature.

Oh you sweet deluded summer child.
Way to highlight the non-smut and sexualized popular mods in order to twist the narrative. Also nice rebuttal there, so ok apparently its totally fine to not blame the modders whom actually go out of their way and create the degenerate community of erp with their popular sexualized mods that anyone can see on most media outlets btw.
But IT IS OK to blame the devs for...somehow encouraging that community with...uh what exactly? A pole that was an already existing item in the game's world? Even though every single patch in this game has never been to cater to that agenda? Yeah they're totally turning this game into an evenue with every single patch thus far!
You and everybody else who believes this junk all deserve a slow clap.

No, no back tracking here. I see you trying to shove it under the rug. You explicitly said "The game literally has nothing to do with the ERP scene" and then when presented with irrefutable evidence you just hand wave it like we're the ones digging the bottom of the barrel. You're the one stretching your comment here. Plenty of existing furniture hasn't been made into a housing furnishing. So the pole isn't an innocent addition here.So all of a sudden them adding an already existing world item for purchase, which you still cant even do the pole dance with, is somehow them focusing more on the erp scene than the actual game itself.

If you had said "they aren't focusing more on the erp scene than the actual game itself." I would agree with you.
I'm gonna post this reminder her just in case.
TBH I don't have a strong opinion either way, since I don't RP or care, and even I think it's a nod to ERPrs. That's just not the kind of thing you'd normally decorate a home with. But a venue I can see.

Excuse you, but a single pole (that you cant even do the associate emote for) isnt exactly absolute evidence that the game itself is solely trying to cater to this agenda. Which is what the main argument is with this thread. No, no back tracking here. I see you trying to shove it under the rug. If you're going to grill me on semantics then fine, you can take that little "gotcha" victory (because this actually proves to me, that you have no actual well-thought out counter response for my argument if you're just focusing on how I said things). But that isnt the point that I'm trying to make which is that the game isnt trying to cater to the erp scene with these patches.

And you know what. I'll take the win because of course I don't have a well thought out response for your argument. This is a thread about ERP lmao.Excuse you, but a single pole (that you cant even do the associate emote for) isnt exactly absolute evidence that the game itself is solely trying to cater to this agenda. Which is what the main argument is with this thread.

But if you want my take on the OPs intent it's not that they're catering to the ERP crowd with these patches, it's just that there's so little to do the ERP scene seems to be one of the things surviving pretty well. So it's hyperbole on their part. So in that sense we are in agreement the game isn't all about that.
I hate to agree with this, but it's true.So all of a sudden them adding an already existing world item for purchase, which you still cant even do the pole dance with, is somehow them focusing more on the erp scene than the actual game itself.

I mean the ShB story literally has you dancing near poles(can't dance around them like the npcs). That doesn't have to equal out to ERP though. There may be some sexual related themes within the story(MSQ and side quests), but that doesn't mean you necessarily have to start ERPing on the spot or whatever.
I feel like a lot of people are ignoring that there's some boundaries here.
