Sorry for the spelling errors, typing this out on muh cellular device.
Meant to say SB and AF quests.

Newsflash: all of FFXIV is like that. DH, AV and CC are all repetitive and boring. It's a limitation of the engine, map layouts, and server infrastructure.I genuinely hope you are not serious. The open world content in ffxiv is almost as engaging as a bag of rocks. Leves, the single most bland, repetitive. Boring aspect of any open world content, are horrible. Nm's aren't true Nms, they are just monsters with unique names that pop every 5 mins. Strongholds? Really? What is there to do thete aside from SB and AT quests?
When compared to its older brother, FFXIV's open world content is sheer and utter garbage.
Unfortunately it is. You are correct, very boring.
This game has room for, and also needs, both instanced and open world content. As has been said in my threat about notorious monsters, just because one group doesn't like certain content is no reason to omit it completely. There are loads of us who enjoy open world content, and there are loads of us who want instanced content.
If FFXIV is going to ever take off, we need to implement as much content as possible to maximize the eperience and cater to all sides of the spectrum.
And when I talk about said content, it is under the assumption that SE will make it fun.

I've got to say that although Shposhae is designed for level 15 players, it's a freaking gold mine even for players such as myself who have all battle classes to 50. Whether you go in there to increase your kill count for the butcher's crown or empty your inv to cash in on drops, that place is a freakin' gold mine! You may not like it, but I love that place.
I mean I'm not opposed to open world content in general. I never said that. What I am opposed to is having the most valuable items be available from open world content (as Yoshi said on the polls anyway). When you have gear that is very valuable in open world content, it becomes exceedingly difficult to obtain and exceedingly easy to monopolize.Unfortunately it is. You are correct, very boring.

Oh guess what half that open world stuff you said IE dungeons are going to be gone, so don't include those please.

I would prefer istanced dungeons, they are more easy to design and balance for a group of ppl.
I find open world dungeon boring (at least in the current version) ...
Even stronghold are a non-sense grinding to farm key and have luck in drop by opening a chest. And ppl here in this forum dislike koreans mmo lol... Atm FFXIV is more grindish than any other mmo... Just give us well designed dungeon (and with a decent time lock) in various difficult.. hard mode / nightmare etc.
Btw i still like some open world NM (Odin ?)

I like it for some dungeons, ones specifically designed to challenge a full party like Cutter's Cry. But I enjoy the current openworld places too like the strongholds and Mun-Tuy Cellars. If they added a bunch of content and had an even split, or even favoring openworld a bit with instanced BCNM type things I really think that would please the majority.
We really need a generous amount of both at all levels...

Probably already been suggested but I am feeling lazy right now and I dont feel like reading through several pages of posts. ^.^
Why not a dialogue as you enter. "There is an instanced event in this location. Would you like to participate? Y/N" giving you the net effect of having both.
(Ifrit) Dipped them in lava like gravy and bread. Oh heck that bed, oh heck that bed.
Are highly instanced. You get your own instanced mobs, people can only help by healing you, all things considered you might as well be in a instance for them.
Just saying.
For the record I know I've said it before but...
I enjoy instanced content to a extent it's a great way to design certain things like Primal fights, BCNMs, yada yada. But they are making instanced dungeons that require next to no skill to get through aside from the boss fights.
Why not just make the boss fights instanced? If anyone can show me that the content between the bosses is substantial, rewarding, or even "Fun" I'll give you this point but as it stands they may as well have had a open dungeon with a challengable fight to get past a certain point in the area.
Killing all the fish in the room to open a door isn't something "Amazing" either.
