Roni bebi did you change your eye colour?Well, since we're talking about the Scions again...
I'll admit that there's a weird impassivity I feel whenever the Scions appear on-screen in post-EW.
I started feeling it during EW (earlier with Thancred, who I feel concluded his most compelling arc in ShB), but it's definitely apparent now.
Estinien is my bro, though, so I was genuinely excited to start adventuring with him again.

I was pretty bored of the Scions by ShB. Now, not only are they outright unkillable and wearing the exact same outfits in EW, they're also voicing trial/raid bosses. The developers know what they're doing and are enjoying every bit of it.Well, since we're talking about the Scions again...

Oh, and you WILL take your 1000th eScape remix and enjoy it. No exceptions.
She looks ethereal even in the small icon so you definitely succeeded! I love it! :3 <3 Show us a bigger picture whenever you can if you want! <3
I think the Scions have been shells of their former selves since 6.0 (Maybe a bit earlier). In a way, they seem to have regressed back to their pre-ShB characterization of just being there to say whatever is needed to make the plot move forward and overexplain the themes of the story in case anybody missed it (there are some exceptions, like Urianger. But it also feels like a rehash of previous patterns). Krile is especially guilty of this. She's an almost literal deus ex machina during the entirety of EW.Well, since we're talking about the Scions again...

I definitely wouldn't mind an entirely new cast.

You people have a weird fascination with character death, like it means anything on its own. The industry is plagued by really dumb character deaths put in there for shock value that actually feel cheap and worthless. Anyone seen Amanda? I think she's on a Holiday.
Anyway, as I said on another thread: Character death for the sake of itself means nothing. Stakes are created through conflict, which can mean many things, and you people need to stop being so obsessed over this ONE plot device and understand there's more to conflict than "oh no they died".
Then again, it's Wood Guy, so I don't know what I was expecting.
I said this in another thread: The Scions are fine, but they're done with their conflicts/growth, so of course they can feel stale now, much more if someone doesn't enjoy their personality at a base level. I've been saying I want new characters for 7.0 for this reason, but this has nothing to do with character death as a cheap plot device.

Aveyond probably thinks lord of the rings is terrible because only 1 person dies early on and the rest who seem to die don't.
The Lord of the Rings is terrible. Do you remember how Dumbledore comes back after the Balrog killed him? How dare they not actually kill him, terrible story no stakes.
FF IX is by far my favorite entry in the franchise and Garnet my favorite character of really any video game so far. The fake out deaths were borderline ridiculous in this expansion, I almost thought Thancred might have actually eaten it, but once Estinien did his monologue and died I knew it was all for show, no way were they going to kill of two of the main cast let alone all of them. It really just made Ultima Thule a hollow experience.
Death comes when you least expect it.
