I hate to say it, but with this system, I'm more relieved than bummed to not have a house. And this is coming from someone who started saving gil since day one for the chance to buy a house.

Thank the Twelve I can just settle for an apartment that I can neglect as much as I want. Obtaining and keeping a house in the game sounds like a hassle.

My heart does go out to those who are trying to get one or who lose one, though.

Honestly surprised. According to google 225 million people still use yahoo.

On topic: It sucks but you can reclaim your stuff at a npc at least. Sounds like you need time to sort yourself irl though so take it as a good opportunity to do so. No obligations to login and do stuff. It can be a positive if you let it be.

My friend, when you finally get your house, whatever size it is, you'll have a honeymoon period of maybe 2 months after you finish decorating before you go back to idling between roulettes in a much more convenient and populated place like a capital.

I suppose it's worth adding, while I wasn't playing as actively as I should have, there's honestly no way it could have bee 45 days. I've literally only been gone less than 4 weeks, and distinctly remember logging into my house just before my move, and I *think* I'd even ran around my house just after the move.

I mean, it could have totally been like 3 weeks (and to be fair, I actually thought that *was* the auto-demo timer), but definitely not 45 days. It's actually impossible.

There's obviously nothing that can be done now, someone else has won the plot. But I would probably say, I do think the devs may want to double-check how their "timer" works, because clearly something wasn't working as intended. Maybe because I wasn't "interacting" with anything in my house, just running around it. I spent way more time *around* my house (outside), and since there's no notification on log-in to *enter* your house, I guess I just forgot to actually *enter* my house.

To be honest, I do kind of wonder why they don't just let people keep their houses merely for staying subbed. I'm honestly probably going to quit, and it's directly over losing the house. It's not a *lot* of money, but that's still one sub they're probably going to lose.

Either way, definitely still really down about it. I poured so much time and effort into getting the gil and buying all the items, and I just really *loved* my house. Especially the dedicated "Holiday" theme, I'd honestly thought about trying to decorate it for each of the major holidays (mainly Halloween and Christmas), and it definitely brought some amount of joy, just logging in and admiring my place, or seeing the journal comments from others who liked the place, too.

Auto demo doesnt go off before 45 days, never has, never will. Now you're just finding excuses.

I had a friend quit over a medium. Never saw him back. It does suck losing one.

1.) Auto-demo does not go off until 45 days. Full stop.
2.) If that one aspect of the game bothering you is enough for you to quit...maybe you SHOULD take a break for a while, for yourself. (That's not to bash, I did so myself a few years back when housing was all I was interested in and I lost a *SMALL* in Shiro (which was the new great area at the time) after having to get up at 2am to try and win the click war for it. Taking a break lets you go enjoy other things and maybe come back with a fresh pair of eyes (or, if not, find your next adventure).

I defended you before, and I'm sorry that happened to you, but this is bullshit, automatic timers don't miss. I'd trust them over your memory, sorry buddy.

Regardless, I agree with you that autodemo should not be a thing. But I guess they'd rather encourage new, wide-eyed players to try and get a vacated house, than let old souls who could unsub for any reason anyway keep theirs.

Are you speaking from experience? Sweetie, I bought my first house in 2015 and have never accidentally lost one to auto-demolition because I idle at my house and do my retainer business there every time I log in. You should do the same so you don't end up like OP did.

Can't wait for EU auto-demolition and the chance to finally claim a personal mansion that some inactive user forgot to enter.
