"You pull, you tank" is a bad mentality

It's a bad mentality, yes. But if you're going to go ahead and pull additional without necessarily communicating this with either the tank or healer, then that's just as discourteous to them, really... Regardless of whether it is actually faster. As per my initial post, there's no excuse, but there's also no excuse for not running it by either the tank or the healer.

In any case, both of these situations happen in equal volume, I would argue.

If anybody but the tank pulls it just means that the tank needs to quicken up, people don't have 900 years to wait for a pensioner.
