You do realize that light-skinned people of color exist? Like East Asians? Have you ventured out of America before?"as a person of colour" you are not representing your own words very well since your character seems to be very...shall we say.. white. which part of the hypocritic colour scale are you a part of
nice trolling but you really need better material. slow week on 4chan or reddit?
Why does representation have to resort to stereotypes? Many Indians don't talk like that. Even the music sounds like a caricature with the "weyy-yahh" chants. Appropriation is about white people taking someone's culture and uses it for profit without crediting and paying the culture it stole from. That is not on the same axis as stereotyping.I know this is a troll but what the hell.
If they didn't implement certain stereotypes such as an Indian (-like) accent and south asian architecture, then they'd be accused of appropriating south asian culture without representing them. Imagine if all of Thavnair was populated by ginger haired Caucasians with Welsh accents, but still kept the geography, ecosystem and designs/textiles? How much more insulting would that be?
Ah yes, the White People of a Japanese CompanyWhy does representation have to resort to stereotypes? Many Indians don't talk like that. Even the music sounds like a caricature with the "weyy-yahh" chants. Appropriation is about white people taking someone's culture and uses it for profit without crediting and paying the culture it stole from. That is not on the same axis as stereotyping.
They did a much better job with Thavnair then I expected actually. I felt they where respectful to the inspiration, whilst making it fit within FFXIV. Nidhana is one of the best characters from Endwalker, and she frankly deserves to be treated like a Scion. I love her joy! Thats not to say criticism should not be given if deserved, and I am just a white guy giving their opinon, but honestly all I have seen is positivity from people of that culture. Outside of trolls like the OP, of course.
I am still a little unsure what the representation of the New World and its gold cities will be like when we get there. I hope its more like Thavnair as there is alot of good lore they could adapt from Aztec and Native American culture, and not just have human sacrifices and pale people in feathered hats with a ‘how’ emote…
This is perhaps the only thing I agree with, that the Scions could use a bit more melanin within their ranks. More of a JRPG trope then anything, as I think the game handels race rather well. One of the reasons why I made my alt WoL dark skinned actually haha.

You're free to develop your own game that checks all your boxes.
This is game developed by someone else, that checks THEIR boxes. Please be respectful to them and drop the mindset of emotionally blackmailing developers to make games to your image of justice and "what's righteous and wrong" according to your internal beliefs.
You have right to complain of course. I also invite you to joining us with voicing other game issues and concerns, that are higher on the list of importance, because they affect every single active player, not just group that gets triggered from political messages.
You hold the most powerful tool - you can choose to not play this game, if it's something that conflicts with your values and you're decided to stand for them.
If political message and correct cultural appropriation is what makes you feel safe, included and noticed, I suggest trying world of warcraft. The game went a huge change in the past year. For example half of npcs turned from white to people of color , and many quest lines now have cultural, gender identity and political subtext.

I would highly suggest not interacting with this thread 'discussion' in any way. A poster has a better chance of being reported than the OP themselves and getting a suspension.
Please report and use the features that the Forums allow us to do.
