Why should there be any ill intent in representing a certain setting in the way it looked irl? Even nowadays, many European countries are still very white. And no, that's not a problem at all.

America is trying to turn any culture that doesn't look like them into some sort of a sin, but the world outside America is vast, and trying to replace everything with your own culture is not cool with me. There shouldn't have been any controversy about this to start with, and there was nothing wrong with Yoshida's reply.
