Thordan is criminally pathetic. It completely undercuts the narrative tension.

Piss easy content so they can get their shinies to afk with in limsa again.Remember when Stormblood first came out people bitched and moaned that Shinryu was too hard? That was actually one of the first times I enjoyed an MSQ duty. Basically, it's only going to get easier from here on out, the FF14 community doesn't want challenging, they want piss easy content they can turn their brain off to.

Well, the content was hard enough for people to complain about it.
Even if it was just normal story mode trials.
Some people just don't want to play an MMO, and the game caters to it.
And making the fight longer affects this... how?
Like I want to understand your thought process here I get people only want the story, some people do not want to have to deal with a hard boss I get that, but all we want is to make the boss last long enough that you can experience it in its entirety
we just want the encounter to be how it's supposed to be why is any of that supposed to put off new players.
The way you've going on about this makes me feel like you don't care about new players experiencing the story, and all you want are the tomestones so you can earn more shiny things.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with at least a bit of challenge even in "normal content"
the people that want "press 1 button" simulator have the whole lot of MSQ quests.

You do realise Thordan doesnt DROP any gear, and that poetics are hardly for "shinies".The way you've going on about this makes me feel like you don't care about new players experiencing the story, and all you want are the tomestones so you can earn more shiny things.

Aside from Triple Triad cards, the occasional crafting mat, and fights with Gilgamesh, no normal mode trial has dropped anything since Good King Moggle Mogg.
Yeah, I kinda want this. A lot of mechanics and cool parts of the music are skipped like this. I want to play with my partner (new to FFXIV) and I don't want to have to make a custom min-ilvl Endsinger group just for them to be able to experience more than .5% of the final phase.
I kind of agree.
Fights being longer gets you to see the fight in its entirety.
it should be easy enough to clear yes, but it also should be able to hold the narrative weight.
Imagine if the final EW boss only lasted seconds, the 2nd phase wouldn't feel as good.
