SE needs to do something about all the hate bait trolls in these forums

I mean a person on the other thread did today say "I will be like the people of Uganda" which you know, is passing laws that make identfying as gay not just illegal but hold a possible life sentence so... such comments may not be as common as the person in question is saying, but they do pop up when these threads gain traction. The trans thread a while back, oh boy was that a hellscape...

Umm... I'm sorry, but do you really think the state of the forums is due to LGBTQ+ folk starting threads about representation? Threads which I am pretty certain the majority are not even started by suck folk, and are purposely done by trolls using the community as a shield? Threads where the most of replies end up being against the OP and topic in question, with views ranging from indifference to outright hate speech? Even if we consider that some of them are done in good faith, you make it sound like it is demanding things in blood and pronouns, rather then ‘Oh this would be nice if the game added that.’ which they seem to start with.

That just feels like a rather twisted way to look on the rise of hate here and in the community at large.

Dude, if you read my post very carefully, and don't use it as some means to to create a viewpoint that doesn't exist there, you'll see and understand that it pertains directly to the poster I quoted and his thoughts on an attack towards the LGBT community. It has nothing to do with the state of the forums, which if you've read any of my recent posts, you'll know exactly how I feel about that. Or would you like me to elaborate on that specifically?

If anything Gemina is one of the really few that I've never seen try to bait or even troll on the forums, looks like you're baiting for upvotes like a child because you disagree with them and you have nothing to say because they made a good point, so you go ahead and post a cringe gif since you have nothing of value to say.

I do apologise if I misundersood or jumped the shark on aspects of your post. It was not my intent. May I ask though, what did you mean by your thoughts on "an escalating hatred towards this community" then?

I do think that baning talks about representation would be a downright shame, even if the intentions where to stop trolls/hate. Forums can be a great place to talk about and dissect a games lore, and as someone who thinks that diversity only enhances the world building and story opportunities, gating off feels like a step backwords and harkening to the the days of MMO forums where even mentioning such topics risked a ban. I would rather punishments be aimed at those provoking and derailing in such threads. Pre-Endwalker I remember there where some debates on that topic that did not end up falling to chaos… how times change haha

I can second this. I think I've only ever seen one post from them that wasn't good and it was just a bad take (which we all have those occasionally)

It's weird that people think I'm a troll, when I'm a real player. All you'd have to do is come say hi to me to see that. I'm actually online right now lol.
