If XIV's Chinese market is big and increasing even, I doubt we'll see anything beyond what the game already has, which is completely missable and forgettable side quest NPCs that have probably 20 lines of dialogue, or things that are left for interpretation (Alisaie's, Haurchefant's and G'raha's feelings for the WoL or Ryne/Gaia and Cirina/Sadu).

I think the writers are doing the right thing with not focusing on any kind of romantic relationships in the main story, and because that is the case, I don't think the game needs to improve on that department in terms of '' diversity '' or whatever, because it is barely there to begin with. Not opposed to it though, on the contrary would be very interested and happy to see some male on male love, but I'm not really actively championing for it either.

Also representation is a useless buzz word.

This is a product, not a basic human right. Having gay people in video games is not a basic human right, although censoring homosexuality from media is obviously is morally questionable, even corrupt.
