Okay, I apologize for being a jerk. But you can't immediately have an opinion based on something new due to past experiences without looking into what it is we're discussing. It would be like if I said "No, Final Fantasy isn't an MMO. So I doubt XIV will be" without looking into it.
But I at least hope my insight into why D4 is an MMO compared to D1-3 was helpful. The multiplayer systems that went into D4, and the persistent world is just wild.
Basically the only similarities D4 has with older Diablo games, is that it's an ARPG in Sanctuary using D2 class names and some of their abilities. Otherwise it's a completely new game, it's an open world game with seamless persistent multiplayer.
It gave me some non-linear CRPG vibes too, basically go to the first main city and then I look around.. "Wait, so I can just.. Keep going in any direction and find new towns, quests, events, dungeons, and random people?" .. I got Elder Scrolls vibes basically, of just doing whatever I wanted in an open world. Then it has seamless multiplayer on top of that.
I also didn't make this thread. lol
