Why is it ok to hold people hostage?

I get what you’re saying. People taking video games too serious or something like that. But people do value their own time and enjoyment. When an individual violates that, people tend to have an issue. Whether it’s frustration, or the lack of respect or whatever else. People are within their rights to be unhappy about these things

You don't know. You still fill out a report so if it's a pattern of behavior, it will be seen.

What is wild to be are posts like these that go to such length to project non-existence issue. Show me a post where people defend griefers? What you see as people "defending" most of the time are just the calmer head saying "stop freaking out, hyperbolic, overdramatize and making mountain out of mole hill". It's like the saying "don't just assume nefarious intend when it could be just incompetent".

My guy, you can bury your head in the sand all you want, r/TalesOfDutyFinder literally exists for a reason and is free for you to browse through. These people exist, whether you see them yourself or not. I didn't say they were common or the norm, thank the Lord they aren't, but they STILL EXIST, and they freaking suck to deal with for the people that have to deal with them.

Here's an example: A tank is threatening to grief someone, and then someone defends him. This isn't even the most egregious example out there either.

Right, pretty much agreed, and no one sane is demanding savage or ultimate level gameplay in dungeons, it's just some people expect a basic understanding of the job you're playing (especially in upper level content, especially especially in max level content). They are well within their rights to have this reasonable expectation. I don't get what's so "terrible" about that.

Uh ... thanks for proving my point? Did you miss the quantifier I used in my post is most of the time? Not never, not all the time, not every time? How many people you see in this thread "defending" the griefer? Or the majority of them are saying "blist & kick"? Every single "issues" you can think of, I'm pretty sure you can find it in this game if you're digging hard enough. Come up with the most upsurd thing you can think off, then search the internet hard enough I'm confident you can always find and cite some idiot agreeing with it.

Does that make the issue though? I mean I had my own experience with these people so it would be weird to totally deny their existent.

My story: Castrum Abania. I was the healer, and struggled to keep the tank up despite being a WHM. We wiped twice to the last boss because I couldn't keep the tank through the bleed and auto/buster while dodging AOE. When he ask for more heal, I pointed out the fact he's running a lvl69 dungeon in "full" lvl60 gear, you know ... the last crafted set from Heavenward. Like, a full set, both left and right side. A DPS told me I'm being meant and claim not everyone can buy gears ... and I got kicked.


That was many years ago, that was also the very last time I got kicked from a roulette, just like it was the last time I ran into such a group. You admit yourself this is not common. I can also give you a bunch of "flavored" sub-reddit that collecting all the bad cases in a specific field, but would those sub-reddit prove "anything" ? My point stand, half of the time people make a thread like this, they always flavor it in a way that make the issue seem to be way bigger or more common than it actually is.

I understand your frustration but ... what part of the story tells you "it is ok to hold people hostage"? Unluckily running into troll is part of the internet life, you can deal with it, but you can't be immune from it unfortunately.

Now why would I say that if I believe these people don't exist ... they simply don't exist in number that would constitute an "issue". If your argument is as long as they exist they are a problem even in the smallest number ... then I have bad news for you: you will always have problems. And the only place you can find peace is an imaginary perfect world

Depend on what you mean by "issue" here. If you mean "anyone behaving this way is an issue", then yes, it is. I will report and vote kick every single time I see such a behavior.

If by issue you mean "this is common enough that it has become come an issue." Then no, it is not. And if you disagree, I will be interested to hear what you think could be the solution?

Raven was literally bragging about annoying and bullying their FC member so they are pretty much an enabler, just because they went to a venue, it was in a different thread, but him and his FC made fun of that person for 2 weeks (from his own words) just because they "caught" them going to a venue.

He also has three different arguements with the same person, not knowing what that person actually said because he has no idea who he's talking to. I know this first hand when he tried to gaslight me into thinking I said something someone else said.

Even when I asked him to quote exactly where I said what he was insisting I said, and that I would conceed if he did, he gave me a post number of something I said that had literally nothing to do with what he was claiming I said. I'm surprised it was even from the same thread, if I'm honest.

You're misrepresenting what Raven said in that thread. The person was not a random off the street. They knew them. Have you never had friends where you give each other guff?
