I absolutely hated eureka, bozja tho i had fun with it mostly cuz it felt like a more challenging raid stuff the grinding in bozja some were okey but other were just disgusting and hope to never see it again, i think a mid ground can be found but is hard something i will totally agree is the overall easy content wich is just boring funny enough the solo instances in EW are more fun than alliances or dungeons even trials feels abandoned in this expansion. The pvp team needs to put their hands on the PvE content they really nailed the job identity in pvp

It's simply the way of things, I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
MMO's are constantly in a state of dying. It's why every single content drought in patches you'll have some shmuck cry out "dead game" or "there's nothing to do" after they finish everything and all there left is sitting around sucking their thumbs till mommy and daddy bring them warm milkies and put on spongebob.

    ...was that too specific?

I wish ya'll would stop doing that...putting words in my mouth and saying things I never even said.
Im not asking for SE to Shorten my gametime, Im not rushing to the end, and I dont recall ever complaining about feeling forced to play. I love this game, I log on and play everyday, not very long, but I still play.

It's a shame that we can only choose between a really hard raiding game and a visual novel. The vast majority of games do not have this problem. The majority of MMOs do not have this problem, because they are video games. In his arrogance, Yoshida sought to put FFXIV above the very concept of a game. It's not sustainable at all.
Well yeah, because if you have forgotten, FFXIV is Narrative Driven and puts lots of focus on its story. Other Games dont have this problem, because story is Secondary, or practically non-existent. FFXIV has always been this way, and its what most people LIKE about FFXIV compared to the Competition, its been sustainable for quite a long time....
And come on now, its still a videogame, there is still Plenty of Playable content, the Story may be a big driving force in this game, but its far from the only thing in this game, its far from a Visual Novel.
If you have read my post, you'd see I feel for the Raiders and think FFXIV needs a Balance for the Casuals AND the Hardcore.

I don't know about all this but I just feel like there isn't any grinding content that has been thrown out since the end of Endwalker. I'm not super good at savage/ultimates and things like that but I love to have a long endterm goal. Eureka/Bozja did that pretty well since it was not only just the exploratory zone but the relic weapons had their own goals as well. Meaning you had a reason to be active in current content and do various things (Fates, CT, etc.) Right now I'm dragging my knuckles on the floor trying to find something to look forward to.

Relic weapon? I already did it, I had the tomestones before the patch and there doesn't feel like a need to grind for another class weapon since it was so easy.
Exploratory Zone? I have mixed feelings on bitching about this since I think deep dungeons are good mixes, but it was short and people are clearing it pretty frequently now, I don't feel the challenge or need to keep going there.

What else is there to do? Previous relics? Those are slowly paced and painful simply because there isn't a group of people constantly doing them. When the ShB relic's were out and the requirement was farming fates there were groups everywhere trying to get the pieces, I even got extra just because it was grindy and interesting to do with others. Right now nothing feels like I need to spend time on that requires me to think about long term, or strive, I'm doing PvP for the level 25 armor but...well, PvP is a different situation.

Alot of people are going to bring up the fact that I can unsub for a few months and come back but I feel like that diminishes what I'm trying to say. I just want to feel like I not only have a long term goal but notice a group of people wanting to do the same thing, it's just not there right now and it's really disappointing.

Unless Square Enix / YoshiP want to save this game, I'm afraid it will go on a downwards spiral in 2 years, if not less.
I agree with everything else but this confuses me. They aren't appeasing the raiding crowd, they are appeasing the casual player base who can only play 2 hours a week. Not sure how you can say raiding is lower in effort when the ultimates are harder then ever...

That's also the whole point to this thread. No one is calling casuals retarded, blaming casuals or attacking casuals. Sometimes I want to play something casual when I'm more of a competitive gamer. We need relaxing gameplay and that's fine and nothing wrong with that. Yet the point is that there are players who feel this game is losing fun and excitement.

I'm also failing to see why people arguing against this so much? It's not like anyone is asking to take anything away. Just players asking for new and challenging content.
This is such a weird post when the general consensus I've run into on different social media platforms seems to be that the devs have completely forgotten about casuals and only cater to raiders.

People complained to get it do this point, so what's your problem?
The game was never this bad, so you are saying it's fine that people complained to get it to this point but telling people to shut up and go away more that you have it to your standard?
People like you are afraid of it changing again away from where we are

    Yup :
    - « there’s nothing meaningful to do »
    - « go do savage or ultimate »

A casual gamer is a gamer who does not put in a major investment of time and/or effort into their gaming, regardless of their aptitude or capability.

Note that it isn't unheard of to be hardcore for one game, but casual for another; a person can be both for different games, just not for the same game, and to differing degrees.

Furthermore, "hardcore gamer" sometimes gets conflated to mean someone with more skill, but this is ultimately just due to their consistent investment of time and/or effort rather than being an accurate use of the label. A hardcore gamer can still be bad at a game that they play and remain hardcore. Likewise, "casual gamer" sometimes gets conflated to mean someone with less skill, but this is ultimately also just due to their investment of time and/or effort, and, therefore, can still be great at a game that they play while remaining casual.

What I dislike is the people who try to blame casuals for killing MMOs when that has never been the case.
I think, when people say that "casuals are killing MMOs," they usually mean that they're ruining the experience that hardcore players tend to look for in an MMO, which can actually be true if there's not enough in the MMO to keep the hardcore player's attention because of changes made to accommodate "needs" (perceived or otherwise) for casual players (particularly when and/or if those changes happen to remove or diminish the experience as originally presented to the hardcore player).
