ye hope more of what we see now. so far so FUN.I think they're going into a similar territory as Lost Ark, where bosses have more mechanics, there are a lot of world events, and we'll likely see instanced raids. (Hopefully not like their cash shop bullshit)
Currently I'm having blast with boss mechanics. Giving every class a free dodge was the best thing to happen to Diablo. Lets them design difficult mechanics without catering to classes that don't spec into mobility.
I went into this totally blind, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it's actually an open world with MMO elements. Dungeons are for your party, but the world is for open player interaction with events, raids, and random stuff all over the place.
Also your quests and levels sync, so you can coop with your friends even if they're low level. Blizzard doing something right with their IPs this year..
Some people had some networking issues, but I was able to play 12 hours STRAIGHT yesterday. No issues.
I never liked Diablo 3, but was a huge fan of Diablo 1-2. This feels like a direct sequel to D2 as an MMO. Pretty nuts. Hype as fuck.
I hope in the next expansion they will add another place like Bozja. Its the only type of grind I didnt mind because its fun, need a group effort to complete but not necessarily difficult.
Every MMO Forum: This game is dying.
The Same MMO Forums a Decade Later: This game is dying.
It's simply the way of things, I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When I look at Bozja it was something great. It put the entire community into one space to work together to make a MMO feel alive.
In Endwalker we have island sanctuary which is a solo thing that we wonder who all participates in that content. We look at criterion dungeons which is perhaps the biggest fail of this expansion. Then we have deep dungeon which while has been a breath of fresh air, it is short lived content. The replayablility of deep dungeon is very niche.
But lets be honest here. FFXIV is on a trend. One good expansion then one not so good expansion, then one good expansion, then one not so good expansion. 7.0 will be the next good expansion.
This is a great post. Literally explains that casual players are great and appreciated in the game but as I pointed out, SE is feeding too much attention to the casuals only. That's also the whole point to this thread. No one is calling casuals retarded, blaming casuals or attacking casuals. Sometimes I want to play something casual when I'm more of a competitive gamer. We need relaxing gameplay and that's fine and nothing wrong with that. Yet the point is that there are players who feel this game is losing fun and excitement.Remember...CASUALs, are what make a game thrive. They will still be around playing and paying so long as they are entertained Well before the Hardcore crowd is gone. Plus there are more Casuals in the gamer Space then hardcores.
But A nice Balance is needed, for the Hardcore who want challenges, and for the Casuals who just want a fun game to play but might become hardcore as they stick with the game.
A grind here or there.
I'm also failing to see why people arguing against this so much? It's not like anyone is asking to take anything away. Just players asking for new and challenging content.
I hope you're right which is probably why a lot of players feel it's a good time to take a break. Even I'm growing bored and thinking about waiting till next expansion. When I look at Bozja it was something great. It put the entire community into one space to work together to make a MMO feel alive.

But casuals like playing a video game first and foremost. 90% of this game's casual content consists of watching cutscenes and walking to the next one. So many non-raiders have simply stopped playing this patch cycle due to the lack of engaging video game-style content. It's a shame that we can only choose between a really hard raiding game and a visual novel. The vast majority of games do not have this problem. The majority of MMOs do not have this problem, because they are video games. In his arrogance, Yoshida sought to put FFXIV above the very concept of a game. It's not sustainable at all.
Then only play as much as you want. No one's forcing you to play Final Fantasy XIV. Why are you asking Square Enix to shorten the amount of gameplay just so that you can get to the "ending" faster? Are you only here for a sense of accomplishment and not because you actually enjoy the gameplay?Mainly because as I grow older, I have more responsibilities and dont have as much time or Energy to game.
