We should be able to mute crafters

I turned off sounds and effects from others back in 2.x due to Holy spam at the marketboards, otherwise I'm sure this would annoy me as well

This has been in game for almost 10 years and it just became a problem? This what happens when people are bored with patch....take break/play other game.

As for issue, housing district almost dead, set up a teleport to go there, piece and quiet because I doubt SE will solved this triggering issue any time soon

This literally has nothing to do with being bored of the patch, stop trolling

You dont have tinnitus, nor do you have autism like OP has, you shouldnt talk when you have no clue what you talk about

This doesn't apply here, I'm still new to FFXIV (only been playing for two years) and literally renewed my sub last week. Can't be bored if I LITERALLY just resubbed. Also just because nobody with autism or tinnitus brought it up, doesn't mean it's not an issue that could be changed.

there’s been several threads about crafting sounds here, on reddit and in other places in the past 10 years. Just google FFXIV crafting sounds and you’ll see. This has nothing to do with being bored. Some types of sounds really cause serious discomfort and even physical reactions to some people.


That sound hurts me too and but the worse were the bards playing on top of each other until I found the option to mute them. Despite that, the first thing I do when I land in Limsa is use the aetheryte to get away from the noisy crowd.

Now I have a house near a MB and there are no crafters nor crowd noises around so that’s what I use. Although houses are hard to get and require +3Mil, you could buy an apartment in a city (I have one on each of my characters) . You get a cheap teleport point and there is a MB, retainer bell and chocobo stable right in front of each apt building and there’s never any crafter around. There are some vendors in the building but you can also have some in your apt, along with an armoire, retainer bell, aesthetician and fc chest.

This is how bad it's gotten. When people complain about people who they can literally walk away from.... If they are crafting they can't move. Just go somewhere else.

Or just give a small option to turn them off, it doesnt take much now does it ?

Like, they changed the GNB sound effects, but they haven't done anything about the constant "CLANG CLANG CLANG!" with ARM and BSM. Usually metalworkers have their own offices and worshops for several reasons, one of which is the noise: things get really loud. And this I speak from direct experience with a family member.

Also, Square Enix has never seen a spinning wheel before. Wheels don't make a sound that loud nor that grindy. The sounds are usually a bit more quiet. More often than not what you hear is either a constant beat as you press the pedal to make the wheel spin faster, or depending on the model, the wheel tumbling (not grinding) and the thread getting coiled around the spindles making a "krrr" sound.

If your wheel makes the weird grindy noise FF14 spinning wheels make, please get a new one or put some oil in the poor thing.
