    Honestly, if the devs refuse to outright eliminate the melee's entire 60%, I think NIN and (I guess MNK's, though I'd argue DRG too) DR should at least be brought down to 45% and DNC, SGE and RDM should be brought up to 45% to create a 3rd category.

    I find that unlikely though, as it's probably easier (and lazier) to just divide the DR levels by roles.

    The kicker is they said they're planning a number of adjustments for 6.2 and that just never happened. From the Patch 6.18 Notes:

    * We are planning a number of adjustments for Patch 6.2, including further changes to the rate at which the limit gauge fills for each job, as well as damage modifiers.
    Patch 6.18 released on 05 July 2022. It's been almost a fucking year and they haven't said a single thing about those damage modifier changes. I dunno, I don't think the devs give a shit about Frontlines, or PvP in general. Maybe if we're lucky they'll fix shit before 7.0.

    When they increased damage reduction across the board, the whole thing feels like a bandaid solution because crowd control and certain limit breaks were out of control. Feel like if they did diminishing returns for crowd control in Frontline, and made it so big AOE LBs start to fall off after 5 targets (thus having no effect on CC balance), it would have helped a lot of their issues.

    They should probably, like, I dunno... just not do that? Particularly if they can't accept the risk of failing to succeed by just waltzing forward.

    Now they just run into entire alliances, fish for instant kills, and then leave without much risk. 60% DR for jobs that deal high damage is far too much, and should be either reduced or removed entirely to provide actual risk for that DPS reward, rather than whatever power fantasy nonsense the melee DPS in this PVP are supposed to be now.

    I'm pretty sure it was 40% in 6.1 and I think that number was genuinely fine. I play melee exclusively in PvP.

    The only issue was WHM's Miracle of Nature having a bug that turned off DR.

    And do what? Meander in the backlines and do absolutely nothing? Run off and try to find some random skirmish of 2-3 people accomplishing nothing?

    The zerg IS frontlines. Going back to the old damage values means melee simply cannot participate in the objectives and you'll just have almost entirely ranged players on the field with the exception of tanks.
