I'm not going to get into...whatever...the current topic is in the last few pages.
I wanted to go back to something I saw mentioned earlier. I saw some comments about not knowing what is being built up to in the story. But consider this for a moment. Isn't this a good thing? We aren't sure where they're going to take things. We don't know how they might shake things up. Instead of having things run on a fairly predictable path, anything could happen. I find that intriguing at the very least.
It can be good or bad depending on how a plot is handled, or if the payoff was worth it in the end. At this point, all we can really do is wait for the payoff, because they haven't been giving us much to go on in the most recent MSQ patches.I'm not going to get into...whatever...the current topic is in the last few pages.

If 5.X is anything to go by, BLU will be 6.45.
Most of my forum browsing or interaction is either when I’m eating food or on the way to work or before bed haha. I have plenty of bits to do in the game but there is bigger grinds in other games I’m having to speed through first and granted not as enjoyable.
I don't think it was malicious or a lie on Yoshi P's party, but SOMEthing seems to have happened. Though I'll note you've got a few pieces wrong.
-Criterion was a few new (or new in this form) systems tried out for the first time, and the story was interesting. The rewards were a bit lacking, but standard fare for a lot of side-content (glam gear and some random extras like minions or mounts)
-The Relic is a result of the last FOUR OF THEM having people complain about every single step. I think it's less laziness and more exasperation and trying this out to see if people prefer it. This is basically the HW Relic just without the middle-man. Many of those steps you bought the parts with tomes, you just had to then do something like combine the parts or whatnot, so it made it seem more interesting and less "generic tome buying generic item".
-Orthos adds a new aesthetic and several new pommanders that can change how you do content, such as how Storms works if you think you can round up large groups and use it before dying, the Slow spell one, and the Demi-clones don't work like the HoH Summons did, instead of being one big wide area attack, they're minions that follow and support you on the floor. The boss encounters are also more like "regular" boss fights in the game in terms of mechanics, rather than PotD's "regular enemy with more health" or HoH's "we'll add a mechanic or two from SB". It also allows leveling from 81-90 outside of Bozja, and has a lot of collectable rewards. The bosses are also less slogs while the regular enemies have more health vs the player damage output for the first few floors, normalizing around 30ish. Will change up a bit how one solos them. Not to mention the risk of big pulls due to the way the telegraphs are pretty darn deadly, like the Grenade explosions or the 21-30 floor Dragon Swinge attack. From 10,000 feet, any DD is going to appear more or less the same, but Orthos is different enough to be interesting and NOT just a carbon copy of HoH. I don't think it was lazy at all.
-I don't like IS. But I don't think it was lazy, per se. Again, a lot of new systems. It's just not my type of content playing middle-manager to a cheap labor sweatshop. With the base in the game, they can add little things over time like glamour gear or mounts/minions and it be its self-contained little thing on the side. I'm miffed because I feel it robbed me of something I really like (Exploration Content like Eureka/Bozja), but for what it is, it's not terrible.
-MSQ has used Trials before. ARR did it quite a few times, including the Igly fight and most of the Primals. Not the side ones like Mog, but Shiva and I think Odin were both MSQ, as were the original trio and Leviathan. HW had Niddy in 3.3, was it? SB had Tsuyu, and ShB had WoL. While HW, SB, and ShB deviated from this with a lot of their "sets" of Trials (Warring Triad, Four Lords, and WEAPONS and also Memoria on the side), EW doing an ARR is hardly unprecedented, and every past expansion has had at least one Trial that was a major story event in a patch. It's just not been more than one since ARR. I do feel that some of the story has been a bit thin, but I also think it's kind of a "holding pattern" until 6.4/6.5 which will set up 7.0.
Unfortunately, that's kinda made the expansion feel like a "holding pattern" as well. Which...may end up amazing if 7.0 is mind blowing and amazing, or...may feel less so if it's...not.
I'm here for it either way, but I do understand the complaints.
