Considering how close the name "Azeyma" is to "Azem", and that Azem's constellation symbol is the sun which is also what Azeyma is the goddess of, I think it would be weird if some random Ancient is supposed to be Venat's inspiration for Azeyma and not Azem.

IIRC, like The Watcher, the Twelve are Hydaelyn's creations inspired by Venat's friends, not the actual people themselves.

Also, Venat's followers all sacrificed themselves as part of Hydaelyn's summoning process, which resulted in their souls becoming completely consumed (unlike Zodiark) - the unnamed archivist of Ananemsis Aynder who the Watcher was modelled on is an example. So it's a complete impossibility for them to have become the Twelve in turn.

So at the very most the Twelve are merely inspiried by Venat's followers, friends and colleagues, not literally created from their souls.

Though that makes me wonder, what if Oschon is inspired by the previous holder of Azem before Venat? Meaning the one who gave her the title.
