But the cycle itself is not an issue. 9 days might be a long cycle. But it barely matters as the number of available houses doesnt change over time anyway. Either it could for example be 1 per day, or 9 every cycle. And with 9 per cycle, the odds are generaly visualy better (instead of 270 people on 1 house every day, its more likely 30 on 9), even though effectively its the same: 9/270 get a house. It removes the daily online requirement which is a positive thing.

And that its 270 people bidding is again another issue (lack of supply). And again, its not the lottery, or the cycle of the lottery being the issue here.
It would be better if they just reduced the cycle to 7 days, 4 days for bidding, 3 for results, if you don't claim it in those 3 days then house goes back up for bid.

The 9 day cycles are so weird to the point you pretty much need a 3rd party site to tell you how long is left on each cycle

Those 9 days guarantee that people who don't have M-F jobs or education can participate fairly.

It doesnt take much to log in to bid, it takes about 2 minutes, you dont need an entire day of availability to bid.

Lets stop with the excuses for the snail paced bidding system

When you bid closer to the result period you reduce the chance that people stack their bids on top of yours in unexpected ways. As someone who works Mon-Sun I appreciate that sometimes I am able to choose the plot with the least bids close to the end of the bidding period. They should not change the system just because some people can't work a calendar.

Never said you arent, however the point is extremely debatable, it's not like the old system in which a plot can pop in between 4 hrs and 15+ hrs, you literally have to log in for 2 minutes to bid, AND you can check that one site to know what is available in advance, so it takes literally no time at all

Oof, 'Let's stop with the excuses...' isn't really a rebuttal.

It doesn't just take 2 minutes to make a bid. Not everyone has the luxury of time to log into a game just to quickly put in a bid on a house. It doesn't take much brain cells or more than 2 minutes to look at a calendar or have a peek at an empty plot to see when the entry period ends and calculate when the next one begins either.

    I mean... Yes it does

As for the calendar part, that works for both and if anything goes agaisnt your own argument, if you work mon-sun you know when the lottery is going on and you can bid on one of the open days, it will take literally no time, that one website literally shows you how many bids are on a given plot, all you have to do is log in, get to the plot and bid and you are free to log off again.

A longer period also means more houses accumulate for bidding at once, rather than turning it into a non-stop spree of x00 bids on one available house.

I don't see any good reason for a shorter bid cycle other than impatience or a knowing attempt to capitalize on the knowledge that it'll knock out some portion of players who have inconsistent play periods.

If you can look at a website that tells you what plots are open, you can surely open a calendar or a similar website that tells you when the next cycle begins and ends.
