I mean...if he was expecting a dark story to be centered around moon bunnies, he was already setting himself up for disappointment. Us mature players know a little fluffy and cutesy in an optional side quest doesn't make the entire game. Also I really wanna know where these complaints were when there was stuff like the moogle beast tribes? At least the moon bunnies aren't as insufferable as those little things imo...

The moogles only appeared like once in the MSQ and in there own tribe quests. Unlike the bunnies that basically have 2 tribes (because who are you talking to instead of an Omicron?), had more appearances in the MSQ, are heavily featured outside the game (tweetingway and the horrible costume)...

People need to chill lol. Most of EWs Msq isn't fun games. People also forget Pandaemonium exists but ya know, selective bias n all that
Right it was never that dark. Pandaemonium is like the old content. Written for ages 10 and up maybe? A lot of the new content feels like it's written for toddlers. Can't wait for FFXIV paw patrol!

Nope. There are plenty Japanese anime/manga series I don't go out of my way to watch/read that have humorous themes.

The humor behind the concept of Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun (地縛少年花子くん) [Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun] was enough to steer me away from it, as an example.

The humor behind the concept of Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (陰の実力者になりたくて!) [The Eminence in Shadow] appealed to me. I started watching it as soon as I found out about the anime and have the translated manga volumes as well.

Majikku Kaito 1412 (まじっく快斗1412) [Magic Kaito 1412] sort of humor is easier to watch, understand and enjoy. Even for those of us in the West.

Hildibrand may appear to be 'cringe' to many North American or European tastes, but so is South Park.

Loporrits in the game are an echo of the Hummingways of Final Fantasy IV. Why are there rabbits on the moon? Because the Moon rabbit is part of the east asian mythic tradition. And we are on the moon.

The bunnies are not those of Watership Down, so why do you expect anything more of them than you do of Moogles [aka Light Entertainment]?

Different people enjoy different things, but dismissing something without understanding is a problem to be corrected.

Indeed. I thought we were on the game as a whole but if we talk about the moon bunnies than i'm 100% on your side. Little goofy bunnies would actually feel displaced in darker stories. Just imagine a MSQ cutscene where a bunny called "Passedaway" tells you about the death of Thancred. Yikes.

I compare it to garrys mod videos, and they are just as cringe as hildibrand is. And just like gmod, this cringe isnt desired by all players. And yet, people can still make somewhat normal videos with it. SFM however killed most of this stuff as instead of the bad faces and cringe, quality smoothness became possible (while still allowing the cringe faces to show up).

South park became cringe over time. As originaly it was just a relentless and rude method of showing jokes and making some political statement through some episodes. It became cringe since this rudeness became unacceptable, so they tried to compensate it in other ways (that just dont work, and became cringe).

Whatever other arguments you gave for their existance. I think this alone should already be a main reason to accept them in ffxiv. Its a perfect reference to an older game, just like many of the primals.

Nope. The moogles appeared 3 times in the MSQ (4 times if you count Gridania intro/quests), in the Ivalice raids and in the Dark Knight questline, so a lot more than the moon bunnies have been. It just didn't "bother" people because they were spread out. And moogles have been the staple mascot for Final Fantasy since the beginning if you wanna count outside game influences. They even have an extra sidequest with the postmail moogle to get a rare glamour item. So yes, the moogles have appeared more than the moon bunnies.

A huge chunk as to why a lot have a problem with the Moogles is due to how annoying they are in their own quests. Along with how much of a slog it feels to clear off every side quest in the Churning Mists. A requirement for the completion of most of those if all you want to do is unlock their tribal quests. I love the moogles and yet any time I would get the one daily that had you use the slap emote on that one moogle it I enjoyed it. Only due to how irritable said moogle is during that quest. You can even have a moogle conduct your Eternal Bonding ceremony.

The Loporrits on the other hand have shown up in some fashion in every seasonal event since 6.0 dropped. Normally off to the side after you've completed the event or in small optional cutscene. For me it's fine as it shows them exploring the planet and wanting to try and understand those who inhabit it better. Currently if you have the right triggers for it you can see Puddingway, Sleepingway, a third Loporrit, Alpha and Omega enjoying two varieties of dongo.
