So you're paying a monthly sub, and logging in every once in a while just to have access to these forums? But you've 'quit'? Wow, you're certainly sticking it to SE with that. I..wow.You have to be very confident in your game to tell players to go and try other games too in their free time and I think that confidence is misplaced.
Yoshida seems convinced that players will fill up on fast food content for a few weeks, go find another game to entertain them for the following downtime, then come rushing back excitedly when the next patch comes out. What will really happen is players will try other games, find some really good ones they can invest their time into ...and laugh at the idea of dropping their new hobby for PotD reskins, 5 minutes a day doing lopporit chores and more tome farm. It's ridiculous when you think about it, this is the content they expect will drag players back from their other games they were encouraged to try. Endwalkers initial success really went to their head.
Quitting FF14 was the best decision I made. I'm still here checking the forums for my daily entertainment, but I've been having a blast with other games and I wouldn't touch 6.35 with a ten foot pole.
It's about a month since you sub last activated. I'm not sure if I would call someone stopping for a month qualifying as "quitting" the game though. After all I do that all the time (that's how I know the 1 month limit thing), but I never claim I quit the game![]()
You cannot log into forums unless the system has identified that you have logged into game 14 days ago.
I know there's been quite a few posts since this one in particular, but I have to ask: what the hell are you on about?
Edit: Ah, wait, I think I get it now. Good for you for not quitting the game, I guess?

If you read those posts, you'd see they're responding to someone who said "I'm so glad I quit FFXIV" and yet, they haven't really quit if they're still here, because you have to sub and log in to the game every 14 days to post here.
And yet, if someone recently quits, they still retain the ability to post until such right is taken away due to having not logged in for a period of time. So if, in fact, he did quit, and he's still within a certain time frame of his most recent log in, he'd still be able to post.
It does not render his quitting invalid (though for how long remains to be seen, and even if it's not "forever" still doesn't render the loss of interest as invalidated), although I guess it's probably as good of a "gotcha" moment as you're going to get on him, if that's all you're looking for. I suppose it's all about the little victories when there's not much else to strive for in this social mmo experience called Final Fantasy XIV.

First, maybe it's just me, but I think there is a different between quitting the game and taking a break from the game.
Second ... I was the one who explained WHY he can still post after quiting the game, so you really quoting and comprehending the wrong person here. Secondly, even if I was playing a "gotcha" moment ... aren't you doing the same? Context matter, specifically it's about this post:
I mean ... I regularly take break from the game to play other things. This year alone I had took a week break for Star Ocean, and another 3 week break (when I actually unsubed) to play Xenoblade 3, I certainly didn't announce my break in the dramatic faction.
Also, this post came from one of the "chronic complainer" who literally complain about everything. It's not about being dismissive, but he's the type that some of us wonder "why are you still here". And now he just openly admit he has more fun complaining on the forum rather than playing the game ... like dude, you can't say it's unreasonable for people poking fun at such a statement. In fact, it would be unreasonable to think people just gonna let such comment slide.
Like, maybe if FF14 were a job, I could understand where he was coming from. But this is a game, it blows my mind how people prefer to be miserable about it rather than enjoying it. So I legit hope this is his final "I quit" post, not because I want to dismiss him (ok maybe a little bit of that), but the main reason would be I just think it's a good decision from a mental health point of view. Because that specific post above is a legit cause of concern.

I have to laugh at comments like these. gotcha moments? He said he quit the game and it's been the best decision he ever made. That 's not simply a "i haven't played for the last week and I'm loving it", it implies a long term "life has been great without FFXIV!!"And yet, if someone recently quits, they still retain the ability to post until such right is taken away due to having not logged in for a period of time. I'm one of those dreaded 'sub for a month, play the content, and stop subbing for 5 months' players. do you know WHY I stop subbing? Because I have my fun, and move on when I STOP HAVING FUN. That's why I find these "I QUIT" (no they haven't) posts so silly. If you're so desperate to be rid of the game, just STOP PLAYING. Why on earth would I pay for something for months while I despise it? Why would YOU?
Never trust someone announcing on the forum that they quit to actually quit. They will always be back.
