Just my thoughts I don't really get on the forums often but I thought to give it a shot.
For those that keep saying there's always some humor of funnies in between the serious evens sure I there is.
In HW you had a serious story about the dragonsong war and then there was the offset of the moogles giving some levity
In SB you had the War between garleans and Doma and Ala mhigo and then you had some of set with the Namazu
In SHB you had the story about the first (and its heavy moments) and as offset you had the Dwarven Beast tribes who where more on the silly and funny side.
And that is totally fine a good healthy balance. But the overall tone was always on a more serious note..
But if I look at EW in general and now also the post patches
The MSQ itself felt like the pacing went all over the place its full gas one moment (serious stuff) then full handbrake the next(silly and humor)
It felt in general a lot more jarring then in the previous years. But initially I went fine seems the aim is "feels" to end their epic saga so be it. (and this was already testing my patience as it was but I managed because I was used to having it level out in the post patches as it normally does..)
But now looking at 6.3 there's just more and more 'levity' and silliness being pilled on top without any serious stuff off setting it.
and no the current MSQ atm is not fulfilling that job either that one also tipped to the point of cringiness for me that I cant take it any seriously at the moment
The alliance raid just has the weird anime feel to it now, add in bunnies, also more hildibrand stuff piled on top(because they decided to tie it to relics) and nothing semi serious to offset it.
The new patch split ups since EW don't help either its a lot more drip feeding then they did before.. which for me ironically makes it even more glaring because you now get everything handed to you in such tiny condensed bite sized to be consumed content
it even sticks out more.
For me right now it just feels like I am in the middle of some Carebear/my Little pony episode (don't get me wrong I loved watching those shows when I was a child)
But the scale is just tilting way to much to one side atm its becoming uncanny.
I am not the type that gets easily upset, angry or irritated, but the bucket just seems to flow over at this point.
for 6.1 end 6.2 I gave it a shot. 6.3 was literately the first time since I started playing in 2.0 where I just pressed the button and ended up speed reading the dialogs as fast as I could (which ended up cutting of most of the VA voices) in both MSQ and Alliance Raid.
I am still hoping it will start tipping back again with 6.4 and onward but ill guess ill see.
On a last note as far as I remember community forums are for all people to discuss their views and concerns. And yes not everyone will always be on a same page(frankly would be damn scary if it was the case), we are all individuals with our own views and morals. I am not sure why people feel the need to retort to insults or trying to shut the conversation down the moment a view of someone doesn't align with your own.

Honestly, the issue with all of Endwalker, 6.0 and now the post patches, is that every threat within stories side or main is more or less instantly contained. The literal universe ending omni threat is identified with less than total destruction for one city and its immediate environs with a couple of other, small, isolated regions suffering this same fate... Nowhere in the world experiences anything worse than wars that have raged across Etheirys in the time since The Sundering. And it could even be argued that it's not even as bad, since it didn't seem to be affecting animals or plants as far as the story showed.
The stakes were supposed to be everything, but the threat had all its teeth removed by the Scions simply telling characters to remain calm. "Just don't get too negatively emotional!" Which except by minor no name NPCs in the face of direct crisis was followed by every minor character, even the uninformed, and everyone got off scott free from the literal apocalypse generator that was Hydaelyn's motivation to destroy her own people and every civilization worldwide, large or small.
And in the face of this ultimately toothless threat, not only do we stop it mere days or however impossibly short of a time period we're supposed to be doing this in now, but we do it while being hand held and chided over about hope with so many comic/lighthearted relief moments that it's more or less the serious stuff that's the trying to remind us that we're serious WARRIORs saving the world.
God forbid anything get in the way of our slice of life anime in a game that once framed our character for regicide. A game that once had The Elementals melt people for transgressions against their forest. A game that once had sidequests involving immediate rape survivors.
Like sure, we don't need doom and gloom all the time, but we don't need Happy Happy Joy Joy all the time either. We need a game that respects our intelligence both scholarly and emotionally. Bad things happen and sometimes you can't stop them. Not everyone makes it out of bad things unscathed like they have in Endwalker.
It's going to be unbelievable from here on out when smaller stakes villains actually manage to do anything injurious to any of the current cast (Lord knows nobody is gonna get more than transitory boo-boos at this point).
God I can't wait for FFXVI.

Tbh, OP has a valid criticism, the game has gotten a little to "fluffy" recently. Any sense of danger or stakes are either reversed, dismissed, treated flippantly, or not there at all. I'm guilty of liking tweetingway tho lol, however yes it does feel a little too kid and family friendly atm.
I don't think I've ever seen you not miserable or angry, so I don't think you need Nightvortex to do it for you.
At least some people still understand the point of the forums.
This I this paragraph is perfect at describing one of Endwalker's biggest issues.
I don't think that most people critical of Endwalker want the game to be constantly depressing. However, I've noticed that the people on the forums deal with extremes, so when you ask for the game to leave one extreme, they think you want it to be at the other end of the spectrum. It's the same thing that happens whenever someone asks for more content when we're in a content drought. You couldn't possibly just want a little bit more content, you must be asking for WoW-tier hellgrinds! You couldn't possibly want a well-thought out story that respects your time and intelligence, you just want a depressing and dark story where everyone dies and is sad!
Why can't we just be somewhere in the middle, where there can be happy moments AND serious moments that don't insult the viewer's intelligence? The game doesn't have to be edgy and depressing all of the time, but it's story shouldn't be crafted for 2 year olds either. The characters don't need to be murdered left and right, but there aren't any stakes in the story when every character has 20 inch thick plot armor.
I think part of that is where the story suffers from being part of an MMO expansion. They pretty much had to limit things to the new zones. Yeah, some games like WoW have done world-spanning events in the past, but those don't always go over well. I know it rather annoying trying to go about your business before WotLK with zombies constantly spawning and either having to worry about fighting them off or just getting creamed by them if you were on a lowbie alt. XIV could possibly look at phasing more if they wanted to have something more world-spanning but not negatively affect non-expansion players. We know they had to have done something along those lines because we weren't split up when the sky turned red in Thavnair so those at that point saw a red sky and others were before that or past it and didn't.
They proved they could alter a zone's weather effects based on character and quest progress back in 5.3 of SHB with the whole Elidibus and Starshowers in Lakeland. I don't know if there was some spaghetti code issue with applying that to ARR zones, but I mean, they did alter those zones prior to EW iirc, giving them better background objects and stuff. You'd think they'd be able to implement that weather toggle depending on quest progress. I mean, the Shroud is an ARR zone, and it has the weather toggle for Odin's presence or not. They could have introduced a single fate per region if that was the need, and it wouldn't have been that intrusive (I honestly don't know if there was a need).
But in the end, per usual, they took the path of least resistance. That is, they just didn't do anything and told us that bad things happened without a red sky.

Maybe the game isn't for you? There is like...what...7.8 billion people in the world? It's impossible to please everyone so just as you are valid in not liking the game and should quit...some of us DO like the game and stay. As of RIGHT now though I'm a bit passive on the game and pretty much just waiting on 7.0. Doing Savages isn't my cup of tea and I would do PvP if there was World PvP but I understand there not really being a reason for it. However in general...I think the game is fine. Personal opinion though...I KNOW others disagree with every fiber of their being and that's fine. It's their time and money to do with however they want. As long as they don't try to speak for me...they can do whatever.
