Lalafells are cute, so stuff like this fits them. They aren't really the 'adult' race so I see zero issues with items added like this for them. It is what it is.

This is just an incorrect assessment. There's no "adult" or "non-adult" races: Lalafells are just as equipped to look like adults as any other race, countless Lalafell NPCs can be easily recognized as adults and being cute isn't mutually exclusive with that. We have every reason to reject items that reinforce childish connotations.

I can understand it's much harder to give a damn about an issue that doesn't affect you directly, but the least I can ask everyone reading this is to not be the wet blanket.

Im a lalafell and I have no issue with this item.
Its not offensive that other people want different things.

this item simply isnt for everyone.

what we should be doing however is showing our continued support towards more appropriate items. geared towards general aesthetic. in fact, lets petition for a full "dwarven" line of housing items from ShB.

ERPers doing their thing is none of our concern. just let people be happy and instead lets focus on what will make us happy instead....

give us the same options that are already in existance but just resize them to fit lalas. simple. lakeland furniture is great aestheticly but its massive and doesnt fit remotely in my apartment. (looking at you table and chair) whats wrong with a simple resize?

2) the infantilization of lalafells is a serious problem. Many RP platforms will deny you access if you play lala. You can be called either a child or a pedophile/groomer just for the fact of playing lala character.

I have to admit, opening the housing preview and seeing this did feel like a slap in the face. It feels extremely...against the point that the game tries to actually make, which is that lalafells can be adults who you should take seriously. I mean, can anyone actually imagine any of the major lalafell NPCs (especially the guys) sitting on a chair like this? I didn't mention 18+ RP anywhere. It's about simple roleplay, and the fact that lalafells are simply avoided interaction with.
Also - I am neither a lalafell nor an rp player. You shouldn't try to reproach me for that.

Just the claim that they are children conflicts with other game knowledge, and brings a lot of problems to the players of this race.

Except it's not just ERP venues or folks in the quicksands who infantilize them. I've met multiple FC's, RP or otherwise, that have a "No Lalafell" policy. This is an issue of an in game item that the devs created only further fueling discrimination against a portion of the player base for an aesthetic decision. How would you feel for instance if the devs added an item called a "Miqo'te Litterbox" for indoor housing?

Everyone loves to point out the "childlike" clause like it means anything (They're just youthful in appearance). A majority of lalafell in the story and in lore are treated like adults. Yoshi p has gone on record saying they can't depict children getting hurt in the narrative and why they cannot create actual children/child models to put in danger. The only people infantizing us is the playerbase. They are the ones who refuse us from things (normal or not) and constantly belittle lalafells in duty content. We get harassed nonstop.

We're tired of being treated like jokes, hence the furniture item, and tired of being treated like children as well.
