Had an interesting vault run, I normally tank but felt like a change of pace and wanted choose to get some roulette experience on my ninja. Tank was doing single pulls healer was trying encourage them telling them they can do more. Tank then replied to the healer you do not speak for the group. So we the dps chimed in and said we are cool with larger pulls. Tank the replied does not matter they are not okay with larger pulls and they would appreciate it if we tried to force our play style on them. If we kept pushing him he would report us.

So the healer ate the timer, tank then questioned why did they leave single pulls and w2w pulls speed differences is not large enough to warrent being inconsiderate to another player. We told him you really were not being considerate towards the group. Majority wanted to do larger pulls and you refused to even try. The considerate thing imo I told them would be to try it first if we wipe then adjust but to put your foot down and not even try is just lame.

They tried to explain that a wipe is not worth it, I told him wait and see if a wipe happens. He left soon after. The second dps needed to clear it so we made a party and I queued as a tank. This just got me thinking how common is this mindset amongst tanks that they have final say. Tbh my personal view of level of importance is dps > healer / tank. I always veiwed good dps are leaps and bounds more impactful to a group then healers or tanks. Good dps can honestly make meh healers and tanks look half decent, and I always felt dps is the most important aspect to a non stressful run.

One drk that had to put up with your terrible mindset

Especially on a DRK, you don't even have TBN at that level!

Also, that snark... I'd just reply with "Yes, I have an appointment with a proper healer".

Did they at least have the fairy out? Did they press the fairy's buttons? Did they use Place?

Sadly they would either eat the fairy just for Aetherflow or let Selene heal me often with Embrace, but only twice did I see them use Whispering Dawn the entire run. I doubt they even had Aetherflow on their hotbar.

It would be really hard to disagree with that. In my opinion, DRK between 50 and 70 is the weakest tank on the defensive side and by a significant margin.

You still have the other CD, but in term of self healing, PLD and WAR are doing significantly better because of Clemency or Raw Intuition.

So yeah, I can understand the headaches caused by such a healer

I agree with some of this, but also disagree on some point too.

First things, if the tank and/or the healer don't have enough stuffs, doing large pull can be quite challenging to do, if not impossible in some case (I had a healer that bad one day, my potion was healing better than him, so I couldn't do wall to wall pull like usual in a lvl 50 dungeon, so basically no sustain either)

Second thing, I think it's good to ask for the big pull right at the beginning just to see if everyone is okay with it, thus, avoiding any kind of surprise. Having a tank who don't make huge pull is fine imo (In the condition that he's learning what to do and get used to his kit first, or it's his first time running the dungeon.) I see sometimes healer asking me to slow down the tanking cause they're affraid (at the beginning of the dungeon) then he start to feel more confident and ask for bigger pull after the first boss.

One point I agree with is the importance of DPS (but maybe not on the same scale as you). If the pack of monster don't die quick enough, tank might run out of mitigation or healer out of powerfull healing abilities, and that can cause unwanted death. Basically, you are right with this sentence : "Good dps can honestly make meh healers and tanks look half decent" but you'll agree with me that even with all your good will, sometimes this can't be done cause they just are "that" bad. Also, Tank placing monster correctly in order to AoE to touch the maximum amount of monster (Especially with huge monster), and healer not putting themselves in danger that might kill them will also help a lot. Anyway it's easy to see what role in the team is doing bad at some point.

For your story in the vault tho, that tank was spouting non-sense. "You don't speak for the team, but it doesn't matter what the team say." I'm sorry but, what kind of bullsh*t is that ? If the team was okay with it he should have AT LEAST try a Wall to wall pull...

The fairy is so busted strong pre-50 that a lot of scholars are absolutely terrible. They expect the fairy to carry them and don't really NEED their shields...but should use anyway to get into the habit.

The ONLY reason I have Physick on my hotbar is when things have taken a turn for the ugly and I'm out of aetherflow and most things are on cooldown. I think I can count the amount of situations on one hand...while missing some fingers. However on those extremely rare instances did Physick come in with the save.

So today in Copied Factory I learned that, if you're unable to see the opposing tank on the other tank, you have a 90% chance of getting pvp cross-beamed and barely surviving as a war tank.

Unfortunately that happened to me, I survived with not enough hp to live through the next raidwide. I'm fairly certain the other war tank wasn't happy with me ripping hate from him on Engels and 9S and he more than likely sniped me. However he ended up dying near the end from the tankbuster with 9 vuln stacks with mitigation. *shrug* Was funny to watch.

Soooooo been working on my ARR Relic, cause I never made one of those.

Needed to do 50/60/70/80 dungeons to get what is apparently a daily map. I ended up in the Burn. Tank pulled half packs at a time and I didn't feel like dodging the duty soooooo I just went with it. It's tolerable but eventually at the mist dragon they failed to DPS down the 3 adds while the dragon is vaporized. The tanks a sprout so that's whatever, but we had a level 90 SAM and RPR with us. That shouldn't have happened.

So yeah, I got to forcefully heal through everything. Ended up resing everyone once in the process.

14. Saying 'our tank has somewhere to be' when I hit Sprint and calling me cringe when I try to motivate the party after a wipe that your Physick-spamming caused is a very poor attitude to have. Drop the poor attitude now or get kicked in the future.

I would have initiated a vote-kick for those two things alone.

Took me a while but finally found someone who told me to NEVER use a ranged/caster LB on mobs in a dungeon. Gotta save that LB against Stone Vigil final boss, I guess?
