so instead of dead content a expac later you want to do older non current expac stuff instead :X?I dislike Eureka/Bozja, but it's possible I could enjoy something similar assuming it's tied to the current expansion. The problem is that it'll be dead content immediately afterwards. At least with ARR/HW relics you can throw up PF for whatever it is and you'll have more of a chance of finding a group to grind with than in there.
the southern front last night had full instances fwiw
HW style grind would be ideal methinks. Very long but also very varied so there were several different things you could do a day to progress your relic. Like dungeons, Beast Tribes, high level crafting etc.
As long as it's not the garbage "alternative" to Bozja we got in Shadowbringers.
Personally like Eureka and Bozja more so than the Deep Dungeons which is what is replacing zones this time around. But think relic should have been entirely seperate from them, and instead had its own set of gear and weapons much like DD. Best case would be something like the relic grind like arr and hw, but with options of using those zones to grind out some stages, Bozja was close to the idea but really shouldnt have had some of it content required for relic...
As someone who prefers the ARR and HW style, it's less being entertained with spamming something (which you don't have to do, to remind) and more having a variety of options or passively getting updates from things you do every day. This means someone can spam to finish it quickly or take their time and both options are viable for completion before the next step is out.real talk, I dont think you guys EVER actually believe what you say.
"Gee wilikers Batman, I sure was entertained spamming all those same alliance raids and dungeons repeatedly for my Shb relic!"
This content drought has officially gas lighted the community into thinking that grinds are legit fun and thats hilarious to me.
For me especially it's not being locked away from the game in a FOMO zone where if you aren't there early and grinding with everyone else, you've missed the boat. There's also the camaraderie of seeing the same people come up in your runs if you do spend some time spamming and finding out you're on the relic treadmill and cheering each other on.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Yeah I'd honestly love this. I spent a ton of time in bozja/grinding fates, and while I understand why it's not appealing to a lot of people, I unfortunately grew up playing runescape, so mindless neverending grinding gives me endorphins. Though honestly my only real request is to have relic grinds give decent exp (I assume it will, but I started playing mid shb and only did those relics so far)
I want the ability to revisit older content. Is there something wrong with that?
I mean I started in ShB but I never really experienced Bozja during that expansion. Is it wrong for me to want to go back and revisit older content, even if it's not current expansion content?
I understand it's not the norm since most people just do MSQ + current expansion, then quit, but is there something actually wrong with me wanting it?
Bit of a controversial take here, but I think that's kinda the point. You're not meant to solo Eureka and Bozja. That isn't the sort of content they're meant to be. They're content specifically designed to go in as a group.
I know it's unfortunate to say and people are gonna get upset at that, but that's the thing. It was never made to be that sort of content. So saying "I want to be able to solo Eureka and Bozja" is virtually the same as saying "I want to solo an Alliance Raid". You just won't.
However, Bozja and Eureka suffer from longevity problems, and they're noticeable. It's very hit-or-miss when or if Bozja's full even with the level up incentive. There isn't that much to do there or an incentive to go back to it once you're done with the relic. I haven't seen a full instance in years. And I find that to be a shame, because it means it's going to cause issues in the future.
Don't think i'll be happy with this relic chase personally. I liked the exploratory zones and the prospect of running old content for tomes/drops/light or whatever doesn't seem like fun. Will wait and see before I decide how much I'll get involved with relic this go around.
