Some people see a man barely being able to contain his rage over the abduction of his sister and all they can focus on is his face, so superficial tsk tsk.

If I recall correctly, Zero uses the default 1.0 female Midlander body like how Ardbert uses the default male Midlander body. This is important because it led to speculation that Zero was the unaccounted for-missing Azem soul on the 13th and why Zeno specifically chooses Zero to be his Avatar.
I haven't seen them side-by-side but I don't think it's the same face design. From memory the WoL design was using a hairstyle still available in the character creator.
It definitely won't be "the same body", or rather there is no significance to bodies, because faces are the only directly customisable part of a standard character model. They are both female Midlanders, but that is all.
All that said, she doesn't need any particular design to turn out to be the WoL's shard, although I don't particularly want it to take that direction. Or if it does, I don't want it to end with us absorbing her soul like we did to Ardbert. I don't want to set precedent for it being some kind of plot that we'll find all our shards and just happen to be there when they conveniently die.
Zero IS a woman.I thought Zero was a woman. Their looks, personality, and English voice acting all are in accord with the traits of strong woman characters shown throughout FFXIV. In fact, I wondered if Zero was meant to be the WoL's new partner now the Scions of the 7th Dawn are supposedly disbanded.
((I haven't done the full post EW MSQ quest line yet. I've been busy leveling Reaper specifically to go through the Void World as one.))
You all have me curious how Zero sounds in Japanese.
Same. I would say it is pretty close on the femininity meter as her English VA. Both are not necessarily deep, but rather monotonous due to her personality.
I believe that would operate under the assumption that all of Azem's shards are Midlanders. While I think that is a safe assumption, Zenos choosing/taking Zero as his avatar because she's Azem's shard would lead to a ton of questions. That is a possible red herring to keep us distracted from whom is actually the shard. Quite a few people feel that Golbez is actually Azem's shard on the 13th.If I recall correctly, Zero uses the default 1.0 female Midlander body like how Ardbert uses the default male Midlander body. If absorption is what is to become of the 13th shard, I suppose Zero would make a lot of sense considering she is getting equal treatment in terms of character development as Ardbert. And man, Ardbert got a ton of it.
I think another thing being forgotten by some earlier posts is that he's an automaton. He's a grown up version of his kid automaton made by people who love him and consider him a little brother. If he doesn't look quite like other Au Ra men, then that makes sense. He's an idealized version.
Neither of it shows any ticks here... the new girl... well she is acting like Seven of Nine from Startrek Voyager, but definetely not her.
There is a difference between being a dapper male, and a self-absorbed male who worries too much about his appearance. The latter is what pretty boys do, and sadly most of them do it thinking it will attract the opposite sex; or rather, a feminine partner because they've been erroneously taught to think this is what women want. Problem with that is femininity attracts masculinity, and vice versa. This is how the universe works. A dapper male is different. While they are attractive, well-dressed and groomed, they still exude a masculine energy. Those are the Bradly Coopers, Henry Cavills, and Jon Hams of the world. "Pretty" is not how I would describe any of them. Dapper, masculine, manly, handsome are words I would use.
I can see that. I just think in my personal experience "dapper" is more something that would be used for older men, and "pretty" (whether making fun of a certain type of guy, or as a compliment) were maybe more younger men. There is a difference between being a dapper male, and a self-absorbed male who worries too much about his appearance.
