As I've said, all I want is that the content lasts until the next patch
    Okay.

Ill humour you..this should be enlightening. WHAT content specifically? Like I said sooo many times to staff I was supervising over the years...whats YOUR solution? What content? Based on what?

    Lets hear it.

I get the distinct feeling that if I respond to this, I'm going to get another rant. I think I'll just nip that possibility in the bud and just say that we had a chance at reasonable discussion, but you said you were done, so we're done. We disagree and that's fine, but I'm not interested in getting yelled at again for not sharing the same opinions and viewpoints as you.

Either that or yelling angry rants at someone makes them less likely to want to engage in a discussion with you. Who woulda thunk it?

Enjoyed all of it, but have to admit to being particularly fond of the Alliance Raid.

Have made a comment similar to this before, but am going to say it again nonetheless; I love the way the 'Realms' story presents itself overall - no apocalyptic threat. No threat of calamity. No ulterior motive or evil scheme/plan. Just some benevolent deities who seem to want to have some fun with their 'children'. It's pretty refreshing in my opinion.

And the phenomenal music is just the icing on the cake!

Was a simple question: you said content that lasts till the next patch, I asked you what specifically..what I got was a lame handwave.

In other words you dont have a solution, nor an idea of what kind of content that would last that long.

    Didnt think so.

Yes it was worth the wait to me because it delivered on what i was expecting i would get.
It's not like the content of the patch was a surprise, we knew for a while what was going to be in it.
Even if 6.4 is the same in term of content i would happily pay the sub because even the base content (MSQ, Raids, Trial, side quests) are worth the price to me.

Now asking if the content is worth staying sub for 4 months is another question. I don't think it is, if i'm staying sub right now, it's to do older content.

Complainers don't think new rewards are content, nor new maps for an old type of content (pvp, treasure maps), nor new ways to get creative (first-time housing). It has to be a new battle or a new story with no repetition, because as we all know... doing anything twice isn't content. Most of them haven't done the new Ultimate so I'm guessing the content they want is casual.

With an estimate of 1 hour of daily playtime and 10 minutes per casual boss, it would require 720 new casual bosses or 120 hours of new story per a 4 month patch.

We just haven't had a weapon grind yet but the expansion was released in Dec 2021. They finally released Manderville weapons but the first step is never a lengthy grind, maybe the second step will be. And pretty much no other battle content is a lengthy grind like the weapons sometimes are. You're left with time-fillers like fishing but almost no reward for sinking hours into that.

I've always thought the way resources are spent on this game is weird or wrong. There isn't much of a push for content that can keep people engaged week by week, but there's a substantial amount of one-time content that either can't be repeated or is unrewarding for repeating. Mounts in treasure map dungeons was a fine idea to make those a bit more rewarding but you'd hope for more than just a reskin of the dungeon design each expansion.

I don't understand this take. No weapon grind? I've gone for several already and several sets of armor. The relic is just another grind with a different name. It always ends around the same time, so what difference does it make when it starts?

So first of all, I will argue 2 things:

1 - The increase in time between patches is ultimately not really significant as you think it is.

2 - The increase in time between patches does not, nor should it necessarily indicate or be an indicator that additional content is being developed. In many cases this is just to give the developers additional time to do what they already do - In other words giving them a healthier work/life balance, or time to work on additional projects.

    Now to the other issues:

I don't think a shorter patch time nor a greater volume in 'content' does to resolve much, they just need to tie in additional incentives for people to run content multiple times, or create a better balancing act with whom they cater for, e.g., Island Sanctuary is OK, but if you were intending to grind it then it should have been more difficult to do so. - The main thing they need to do is just revise when they release the content they're already developing, e.g., frontloading the relic rather than backloading it to the latter part of the expansion itself. They could just be more proactive with how they handle nerfs in order to make the content easy to catch up on later in the cycle. Coinciding with the point, they should be more focused on trying to spread the content more appropriately, e.g., Deep Dungeon OR relic should have been 6.3, and then Island Sanctuary should have been dated back to 6.35.

It also pretty much comes down to what you see as content and what you do not see as content. - If you don't like nor do a particular piece of content then that is, brashly put, a you problem, not the problem with the developers.]

What they've released thus far is not really so distinctly different from the cycle we had with 4.3, relic and deep dungeon were dated to 4.36 and 4.35, respectively.
