Was any of the 6.3 content worth waiting 4 months for?

It's literally the same as every other one except 3 different rewards, are we seriously going to call everything content ? Is logging in content too ? Is teleporting to my house content ?

There are some FFXIV players who considering afking and gpose content so I guess if we follow their train of thought, yes. What is painfully obvious to those of us who were here in the Stormblood era is that there's no excuse for the extra time between these patches, especially when all they release is objectively shorter-lived and worse than content back then. No patch has released without something breaking or something being hilariously untested.

I would have respected them more had they said, we actually need these extra two weeks because we're too short staffed to work on FFXVI and FFXIV at the same time, but I learned years ago to never expect that kind of honesty around here. Just look at the lies they told when it came to egi glamours, or the alleged unique hairs/faces the limited races were going to get before they threw their hands up in defeat after giving them 2 years of nothing back in Shadowbringers.

You never made a good attempt at convincing that it was good enough. You gave your opinion, I disagreed, and in response you wrote what can only be interpreted as an angry rant. You say I'm unable to be convinced and yet have not made a good attempt at convincing me. If anything, you've only caused me to have a reason to not actually consider any points you made. This is why I neglected to mention malmstones. I almost did, but it's not anything new. I mainly wanted to focus on new content from 6.3.

I feel you OP, same questions I had before facing what I didn’t want to face.

XIV is a chill MMO. It’s not made for the hardcore gamers, nor midcore.
It’s made for chill and casual players who can’t be sit all day and play.
It’s made for those players who can invest a small time with the game.
SE formula works for them.
That’s why Yoshida said that’s ok to take a break and come later.

Take for example the Tribal quests and the Custom Deliveries. Apart from the minion/mount/glam reward their utility is to level up. Who needs to level up classes after one year the game is released?

Island Sanctuary is a slow paced relaxing gathering and management system. For who this is meant?

Trust is a solo system that helps people to run dungeon in easy mode. Again for who this is meant?

I can go on and on these are just few example of the latest major features we got since SHB was released and the old good days of SB where gamers were proud to play XIV went over.
In the years hardcore gamers or people who just want a more challenging game what they got?
Two basics QoL, a set of ex/savage dungeons which give us nothing, and the reduction from 6 to 4 books in floors 5 and 7….oh also checkpoints after the door boss…but we paid these changes with the simplification of all jobs.
Guess you can’t have everything if you are an hardcore player.

So yeah, this game isn’t meant to be played by us…it’s more for chill players.
Sooner you accept this fact, sooner you’ll find better MMOS.
And if you own the house…I guess SE’s CEO has to eat somewhat and for how love SE has towards their chill costumers they alone can’t provide all the incoming SE needs…but yeah let’s say that’s auto demo it‘s for our best.

So only new fights and new stories matter? There is a new Ultimate too. It will take a while for most players to finish it.

I certainly don't mind how things are. Games not this one exist after all. If you try to play a game basically 24/7 you are going to run out of things to do.

When a patch drops here I do the new content I'm interested in doing at the time, then go back to playing other games. I like that the content doesn't take too long usually since the thing I mostly want to do is record my lets play videos, which I can't do if I'm playing this. (Until I get around to lets playing this game anyway).

Oh shit, I forgot to add…we got ultimates. If you are on a good popolate raiding server you may have the chance to run these contents in PF, if you are unlucky you need to find other 7 willing people…and in EU servers it’s kinda quite meh.

But yeah, I think ultimates are what an hardcore player should focus on…and the other things they could enjoy.

In this matter I would suggest PoTD solo run and HoH solo run (if it’s possibile). I never dove into those challenges but I’m finding doing solo PoTD quite challenging…without being 99/99.

I still have more POTD, HoH, Diadem and other things to do. There's never any drought, only opportunities to do other things.

Yes, it was worth it.
I am enjoying what Ive played, and am waiting for the other half of it to be unlocked so I can enjoy the whole patch.

In the mean time, I have a job, I have a life away from the screen, and I can play other games if Im caught up. Otherwise log in for dailies and continue to enjoy the game, do things I haven't done yet and gear up my Alt.
Im always eager for the next patch and next chapter.
