Exactly, so dont say that people are encouraged to take breaks from the game, they are not.*Take 30 day break from game*Way to miss the point, they said that players are encouraged to take breaks, which is false as proven by auto demolition timer.
*Five minutes to log in visit house, poke around, log out*
*Take another 30 day break*
So to you, a 5 minute login every 30 days is...hard?
I took a look through the patch notes before making the thread and didn't see anything else.
With the exception of ARR, x.3 MSQs are supposed to be the finale of the story set up in x.2 and sometimes x.1. EW's patch quests are taking a different structure than patch quests usually do, but I don't feel like that excuses how irrelevant 6.3's MSQ really was. You can sum up the entire patch with the sentence "The fiends are dead, Golbez is on his shard's moon, and Zero is nice now."
The 'standard' boss music fits the first two bosses well, not so much Halone, and in my opinion wasn't really anything to write home about. It was ok, not bad, not great. Menphina's theme wasn't to my liking, but that's probably not a popular opinion.
For the mechanics, only the second boss really had anything that stood out. Nophica had the Chariots/Dynamos that we've seen a hundred times, and both Halone and Menphina overused half-room cleaves. Nothing outside of that second fight really was that unique. I guess maybe the blue/yellow flower circles in Nophica were alright?
I feel like Aglaia just did a better job in most, if not all, regards.
This is all content that isn't available yet. For the relics and the deep dungeon, as I asked in the OP, is that content going to be worth the wait? I seem to remember a lot of hype around V/C dungeons and those were practically DOA. Both the relics and the deep dungeon have big shoes to fill, and I'm not convinced that they're going to be able to fill them, especially if the deep dungeon is just a copy paste of PotD with a couple new items. As for the Loporrits, that's just another daily chore to add to the pile. Beast tribes have never been engaging content, just a thing to log in every day to do.
And another question. If 6.35 is another failure of a patch, am I going to once again be told to "just wait until next patch"? It seems like every time a patch fails to have lasting content, I'm told to just wait until the next one, but when the next one has the same issue, I'm once again told to wait. When does it hit the point where we can recognize that this isn't a one off issue?
If the solution to the issue is being forced to take a break for months due to lack of content, that seems like a terrible business model for an MMO.
Why should you have to wait to get the rest of the patch that should already be released? The answer is you shouldn't, and said patch should have content that can last the rest of the patch cycle on it's own merit, not by artificially stretching it out by delaying it. Either that or if the content of said patch doesn't last four months, maybe the patch cycle needs to be shorter.

Waiting 2 extra weeks is that big of a deal to you?As the patch cycles get longer, content needs to become more valuable to match
We got to learn even more about the reapers, which is great if you have done the reaper story. You can read the lore in the dungeon as well.A very short MSQ that doesn't do much
and mounts that are useful to mount collectors. Which is not a small community because you see mount farm parties all of the time.- An extreme trial that drops weapons that are practically catch-up gear and are thus useless to anyone who has done savage.
The mechanics are good and mostly involve watching some patterns in the environment, remembering them as they are building up and then moving in the right pattern to avoid them, it's just that the ones in the previous raid were much more unique or out of the ordinary, where we had the builder moving and adding squares of land, rhalgr on top of a spectacle of a fist that did some fun mechanics such as actually knocking you back into the fingers of the fist, and then we had thal's balls, balancing our weight for judgement and the sky color mechanic to some great dance music. An alliance raid with pretty uninspired mechanics compared to it's predecessor... It also acts mostly as a weekly chore once you've done it once.
In contrast, this raid had a lot of ice, which probably couldn't be helped because of the theme of the gods in these raids, but it made it hard to match the first raid. I appreciate the attempt though. Not every raid is going to top the last one, especially one of the best they ever made which I think Aglaia is.
I like that it is a weekly chore because it gives me a reason to do it and then when I look back on it in the future, I will remember all the times that I did it fondly. If I had no reason to keep doing it, I would struggle to find a reason to.
I'm glad that they are quick. Just gets to the important bit which is the story instead of making me farm hundreds of things when I don't find crafting/gathering fun enough for that.- Custom Deliveries that are quite literally a weekly chore
- A handful of sidequests that are one and done.
- A very small expansion to Island Sanctuary
I've thought this for a number of expansions now after seeing this type of map, but I appreciate that the boss fights are at least willing to do the sort of mechanics hunts have. There are mechanics I know from years of playing and fighting similar enemies and if you don't know that type of enemy then you won't know the mechanic. This allowed me to do mechanics first try just based on knowledge from old dungeons or hunts.new treasure map system that is a copy and paste from the SHB one.
I haven't tried it, but it looked like it had some unique things about it when standing on certain tiles. Personally, just the scenery changing helps shake it up for me, but each area does have a mechanic such as weather or seismic events.- A new map for PvP that isn't enough to shake up the gameplay.
Released in sub-patches. We are still getting the beast tribe, deep dungeon, hildibrand and relic update as part of this patch, but it gets spread out to 6.35.This supposed to be a major patch, where is the lasting content to hold us over until 6.4?
No it wasn't on top of it taking 2 weeks longer to come out.
The fact they did ALL OF THAT in 4 months? Now that you put it all out in words...
Yes. I am very impressed.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
I think 30 new wards was a pretty massive update in 6.3 that gave a lot of players something new to do. It completely solved the housing shortage in the EU region. Once I finish my submarine project it'll take me weeks or months to furnish my new large and medium houses.
What they added was plenty to do until 6.35.
You can unsub for 44 days. That's a break. They never said you should only sub twice a year and why would they? MMOs are meant to be an ongoing experience.
I'm not the one missing a point. There's nothing false about what Yoshi / SE have said. You know the cost of owning a house and you accepted those terms when you got it. I'm even giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you actually have one, but you probably don't and just want to whine regardless because that's the only thing that could remotely be considered a counterpoint to "take a break".
Let's be honest: some of you pay just so you can whine here. You might even secretly enjoy the game, but you definitely pay to whine.
