No, it does not mean that's all we need to know, there's no need to be racist and the important thing is to look at elements that other people are working on and see if any may bring improvement.
How did you get racism out of their post? Korean MMOs tend to be super grindy and pay to win with somewhat ok gameplay hidden beneath all the fat.

Just because something is Korean doesn't mean people should automatically be prejudiced against it is all. Everyone has the capability of surprising and coming up with new things.
I'll freely admit I was wrong then, if Throne and Liberty is not f2p, super grindy with a large amount of, let's call it 'pay for convenience' to be generous. I wasn't meaning to be racist at all, I meant exactly what the other poster said.

No worries, It's not my main point anyways. And I hope it isn't all the things you mentioned above. But more than anything I would like XIV's world to feel more immersive and exploratory like some of the things shown in that preview. So its less about that MMO being good or not and more about what of that MMO looks awesome and we could get in XIV. Things we'd like to see, and maybe if the devs look at the game and see other people are doing them in their MMOs then they can also do the same in XIV, such as those weather events. The verticality of the terrain and underground locations, the much less linear dungeons.
Sometimes I feel XIV is too much on rails. Imagine if our dungeons were a more open area, with different paths to take, perhaps because of this MMO's overwhelmingly time-optimized mentality each path is designed to last about the same amount of time to complete, well then its a more interesting dungeon with more replayability value.
Some dungeons could even be designed for a premade groups only, not part of a roulette, that are simply side content players aren't forced to do but are interesting to venture in. A lot of complaints stem from people hoping into a roulette and unwillingly getting trapped. It would also give purpose to the FC's again and linkshell's since maybe a small group of friends or large would be of assistance.
the overworld could stand to be much more alive and even hopefully dynamic. All those are great things that would improve XIV in my opinion.

I would hope that you do not make a habit of buying into things based on preview hype.
there have been a LOT of games, that look gloriously awesome based on a "preview". thats why the previews are made. you can make a steaming pile of garbage look amazing. Hollywood does it all the time. I would wait until the game is actually out and play it to see if you really want whatever they show in FFxiv.
as for being "on rails"... you need to play another Korean MMO called Vindictus. its a very beautiful game. great outfits, the game play trailers are very decent.
thats where the good parts end unfortunately. for variety they will have you start from the opposite end of a dungeon as they recycle them... repeatedly. there is no open world, period. but... its very pretty.

Your negativity has been noted but I'm having trouble understanding it.
I would hope next time you focus on more positive aspects and envision concepts and implementations that could make the game good instead of focusing on shutting down ideas and diversity of thought. I also don't know why you need to correlate beauty with emptiness as games can be both good looking and fun to play.
I wouldn't be interested in playing a pretty game with everything else being bad. so why would you recommend me I play a bad game? So that I can appreciate FFXIV better and get used to it instead of talking and providing feedback about this that could help improve it? Thats just not productive if I'm being honest.
The only good thing about what you said is that you advocated with caution, extremely rudely at that, but that is a valid opinion. If in fact the developers do take the feedback seriously it wouldn't be a bad idea to exercise caution and see how they implemented it first to develop their own. Ideally though, they would focus on the concept and implement their own take on it instead of doing a carbon copy of another game.

Not a lot. When Aion released it was decent fun for a bit. It didn't have long term potential though. Isn't Lost Ark Korean though?
It's a successful MMO so far. Just one that I haven't played to suggest any features that would be a good idea for XIV. Last I saw some news about it was a news article from Asmon breaking his record of streamers playing it.
I mean personally country of origin doesn't matter to me. If it does to you that's your call. It doesn't matter how much junk they've released, there's always the chance good stuff can come out from past mistakes or a sudden change in direction.
