I'm 95% sure you spent Shadowbringers complaining about the missing Deep Dungeon.

We do have our exploratory content as far as assets are concerned, it's Island Sanctuary. Between that, Criterion and the Deep Dungeon, the same amount of assets are there, it's just not designed the same, or indeed designed as well.

I don't think anyone other than the necromancers and lone heros actually wanted a new deep dungeon because everyone knew it would just be a clone.

If people did complain they always specifically request a deep dungeon that's fresh and creative. But that's not gonna happen.

The fact we don't get an exploratory zone this expansion for the sake of Criterion (laughs) and more Allagan/Crystal Tower nonsense is certainly in line with the rest of what Endwalker has been. One bad surprise after another.

Criterion and Variant are awesome. lol A dungeon that's not a glorified hallway, that I can do with 1 or 3 mates and we don't just rush through it and that bites back/lets you solve puzzles? Like an actual MMO?? :O Crazy. If anything I hope we get way more from now on.

Variant was fine, sure it was incredibly easy but the different paths, secrets and having some actual lore to the place gave it at least more replay value than standard dungeons, I'd take it over expert dungeons any day. Criterion however was basically just 3 extreme+ bosses connected by corridors, with no variation or interesting rewards.

They didn't have to compromise in Stormblood. It had a deep dungeon and Eureka. Just saying.

SE was of the same mind as you and thought there was no point in more deep dungeons, so they stopped in Shadowbringers. Then they got a lot of requests and expression of disappointment, which I saw sometimes myself from people, about there not being a deep dungeon. Whether the amount of people who wanted it were large enough of a voice I'm not sure, because people express a lot of things.

But there was also this trend in recent years to get the Necromancer title after streamers started doing it when nobody had really cared before that, so maybe that contributed to it.

Where I live in NC, we actually had a guy who legally changed his name to Pazuzu Algarad and had committed a chain of murders by burying the bodies in his backyard. The sicko’s house was 2 blocks from my last job was located (a daycare). There’s also a documentary on him called The Devil You May Know, with clips of it on YouTube if you search for “The Devil You May Know Pazuzu”. That’s the only true Pazuzu I know of.

From what I've heard, they initially had no plans for more deep dungeons but players kept asking them about it in such numbers that they decided to make a new one.

I don't really care for them, but apparently there's enough demand to warrant making it.

Theres definately something going on with SE as a company making them not want to invest as much into the game anymore.
