Sure, that's probably right. But how will you feel in a few months when the game is still in the same place it is now? How much more of this will you take before you start asking questions, like "is my sub worth it?" and "am I still having as much fun as I used to?" What do you get from dismissing his argument when everything he's saying has a pretty good point? FFXIV is ten years old. Do you think 4.0 and 6.0 are even in the same league?

Aveyond might be cancelled, but there will be millions of others who ask the same questions once the content dries up.

It's all filler till 7.0. I'm not expecting New Expansion levels of content every .1 patch. Thinking that's what you'll be getting is insanity.

Besides...it being an MMO...the social aspect is what keeps me going per patch. Not the content. If it wasn't for the social aspect I would unsub till the next full 1.0 increase and be playing other games.

You know, this is such a weirdly forgotten thing that most people dont talk about regarding justifying their subs. I enjoy hanging out and playing with my friends. I dont do it daily mind you but I interact with them often enough where it fills in the gap of the game's content drought. I dont even think about it as such and funny enough the next patch comes up on ya soon enough. So for me its worth it to stay sub for that.

And even if I didnt have them, I still like to interact with other players even if it is minor. If people feel like their sub isnt justified anymore then thats absolutely fine for them, but dont try to shove your reasonings into other people's faces about why this game sucks because it failed to retain you. Thats not entirely the game's fault, thats a personal problem. At least own up to it.

surprising to me that even apparently knowing that more of the same is coming.. the OP resubscribed....

not going to call them insane.... but isnt that the very definition of the term?

if he doesnt have friends to do an intervention.. we should hope his family cares enough to step in and help

You wouldn't be the first to call him insane. It was established a while back that he's really quite delusional (or just a very specific troll. I lean towards the former).

If these patch cycles bore people then there's the door. Come back when you want to cram more into each month subscribed. I'm sure some only come back every expansion release, which is how things were before this game came along. People would be done in a month and just come back the next time around.

A lot of us are content to just hang around and do whatever... help whoever passes through.

We might be getting longer patch cycles but I'm not really feeling we're getting more content or better polish to compensate.

These patches have had some serious glitches like BRD/MCH in Crystal Conflict disconnecting if they tried move while casting and snared or the ongoing NIN mudra lag that's been present since 6.3 dropped that really went/are going way too long without being addressed.

Duty Support updates are happening alongside everything. It's not content for everyone, but they're still going through and reworking / polishing all that content. Everyone should know be better equipped to handle all the late game mechanics and markers now that everything is more consistent. As for the glitches, shit happens. They get to it.

We got a relic in 6.25 and we got Variant and Criterion dungeons, with their own unique UI that had the amount of work put into it that eureka UI did. We also got a eureka-like area called Island Sanctuary in 6.2 with the same sort of new UI that we would get in a eureka-like area.

Now, even with an extended patch cycle such things are impossible
No, they are absolutely not impossible. They just decided to do something else instead of Eureka and Bozja, such as Criterion, Island Sanctuary and a deep dungeon (the thing we didn't get in Shadowbringers). It's called diverting resources.

and what we know is coming so far just feels so uninspired. But sure let’s rerelease more Allag/Crystal Tower stuff as if the game wasn’t full to the brim with it.

And, unlike the previous Relic Questlines and associated zones, nobody is doing Criterion.
This is another issue entirely. Just because they are themes we have already seen or that aren't being done a lot, doesn't mean they didn't put in the amount of resources they put into Eureka.

It was never about getting more content. It was about allowing them to take the breaks they require to avoid burnout. Yoshi-P has always made sure that his team takes breaks or shifted them around to try different things and after 10 years he feels those breaks need to be slightly longer to avoid burnout. Burnout and having a mountain of personal issues they didn't address at home wouldn't be good for the game, so those breaks help keep them relaxed and able to focus.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

In the almost ten years I've been subbed, I haven't felt the need to unsub at all. Since you asked, I tried to think what would make me unsub, and it would be rather difficult. Maybe if they did the Sunsetting thing that Destiny 2 did and they made ARR/HW inaccessible for some reason? That may push me over the edge, or maybe... if they removed SCH? But I mean actually remove, not just rework or whatever. I'm honestly trying to think of something that would make me wanna quit my sub. I have issues, but not to make me quit.

I'll say: The thing I miss the most is the extra dungeons, but as they were... they wouldn't be very interesting to me anymore. Hard mode should make a return as the middle point between regular content and EX content. That would be a lot of fun. Two per patch? I'd love that. If it gets to a point where they give us one regular dungeon and one variant dungeon per patch, that would also be pretty cool. You may see me throw this around, since you made me think about it, but here's the thing: I don't know how resources are spread within Creative Business Unit III. Unlike some people, I'm not gonna pretend I know if Would-Be-Bozja II resources were used on Island Sanctuary because I have no way to prove that. I don't know what the team's pipeline looks like or how much the pandemic plus the development of XVI affected them. I suspect XIV's development will become smoother once XVI is done, but that's just speculation on my part because I just don't know. So I'm not gonna start demanding things like I have the slightest clue of how and what they're doing.

Funny story... last year I started posting around a bit about how Legacy Movement should have an option to disable the automatic camera, and they just implemented that in 6.3
Maybe I'm just too much of a patient person, but I believe they listen, and they try to make the best they can with what they have.

Obviously some players will be more frustrated than others, but the difference between someone like you and Aveyond, is that you didn't make a post stating how offensive it was for the Valentoine event to have a wood joke, and then expect to be taken seriously afterward. So pardon me if I've become a bit dismissive of the man after that.

I don't think all complaints are unjustified, and as far as the big issues are concerned, I think there's a conversation to be had about healer simplicity, but you know that's not what Aveyond is doing.
