Valentoine event was great! But the rewards contradict the message

I had another think about this, and I'm now almost completely convinced that the glam reward designers had utterly no idea what this year's Valentione's Day event was going to be about. These costumes could have been made several months in advance, or longer.

Correct. I'll link this dev blog entry again. There's a whole process that starts well before the expansion launches where they plan the items out.

On the other side, I’m thinking could this be a secret message and premonition from SE and Yoshi-P to say that in the future, many many more gears and armor sets will not be genderlocked anymore?

I'm a bit confused why they would actually decide to do this and give us gender locked glamour - thoughts typically migrate towards it being cultural in this decision due to perception of the different cultures around the world. Do they see women always in dresses? Do they see ladies who dress like men? Men who dress like ladies? Reminds me a lot of Gilgamesh in fact...

Excuse me. Back to topic, I think we need to consider how much we've asked for gender locked items to be unlocked in the past. If there is enough push by the community for it, then they will send it. This I am sure. Of course, how much push that would be is in question...like the Maid and Butler outfits they sent before I think?

Go to each Major Patch and do a search on the word gender. Come back and tell me that there needs to be any kind of extra push. Tell me how they're slacking and screwing people over and say it with your whole chest. Endwalker has been ALL about these unlocks.

It's what I implied in my last post. I can't be the only one who believes the devs says things without actually saying them. This thread and others before it have no shortages of players who feel totally screwed over anytime gear is released and is gender locked. I can't help but think Emilie represents those players. "Screw Lisette. Screw the whole event. This is about ME!"

I hope the contradiction between the quest and the rewards will be addressed. For me personally, not being able to choose which reward I wanted, regardless of gender, felt like a betrayal to the message of the quest which was to be true to your heart. I understand that the unlock may come later, but it should have been included from the initial release or at the very least be addressed in some way.

Thank you for creating this thread -- I hope the community team will flag this and consider the implications. I enjoyed the quest and felt the rewards really missed the mark.

Why does it matter if the gear is genderlocked? It doesnt matter if it is the correct answer. It doesnt matter if everything isnt. Stop whining everytime we get new items.
