This exactly. Larges are the only house type with a vertical area to build in. SE seems to think we all just want houses. We all just want LARGE houses. They should either:
1. Keep adding new wards until demand for larges is satisfied.
2. Make new wards with literally just larges to save them server space instead of having thousands of empty smalls no one wants.

Most players couldn't even afford a Large, maybe not even a Medium, and then you have the item limit to contend with and the inability to actually fill all of that space.
A Medium is the largest I would go even if I somehow managed to get 40mil+ for a Large.

Tell that to the 60+ lottery entries on personal larges. A lot more people can afford larges than you think. A lot of us that decorate only using a small space of the interior to maximize item detail and clutter. I have 3 floors in my medium. I am using a single floor for every single decoration up to the max. I want a large so I can do the same thing, but have 400 decorations in a small, vertically integrated space that other houses don't have.

I'm using every inch of my house. It cost me 3mil gil, I'm not wasting a penny.

Hell you get more space in the basement of a Small than you do in a single floor of a Medium, because of those stairs taking up all the space.

I visited one of my large neighbours houses. They've done what you're saying, reduced an entire mansion to a tiny little over-crowded space I could bare fit into because I'm not a lalafel.
All I could think was "what a waste."
Could have put an entire FC in there, instead you have something smaller than a Small with a couple extra item slots...

Be careful what you wish for. I upgraded from a LB M to a LB L and it's not as fun to redecorate as it looks Higher ceilings are nice though.
