Well I must say thank you for a personal letter outside of the standard stock letter ^^ its much appreciated.

Dokf Skid on Figaro/Aegis is all I gotta say. If you started on Figaro I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Been around since CE release, started as a bot farming Hoverflys in Cassiopeia and upgraded to King of Children of the Corn Taru Levequest Bots. He's been banned a few times but comes back with the same name, on the same server, doing the same things.
You're telling me the GMs or Task Force can't watch people like Dokf and track their gil transactions, and see which characters are RMT? Don't just ban the source of the gil, ban the mules it's stored on. If you chop the tree at only what you can see (the trunk) you still need to pull up the roots to kill it!
"I know not what brings men joy. Of what drives them to great deeds, of what legacies they hope to leave, I know less yet. But I do know this: The true hero of this tale was the man forgotten."

RMT only exist of the population, more RMT = more people buying.
Thank you for the replyHello again.
I am terribly sorry my locking the thread upset so many people, that was not my intent. I closed the thread as I had provided a means to report the RMTs you have witnessed and did not realize that further debate was needed; I shall keep this in mind for further cases.
I will try to comment as I can on your points.
You mentioned you have placed a number of reports to the Special Task Force, and I wish I could offer more follow up on why you may still be seeing these people in game. The Special Task Force keeps their investigation means and agenda private so that counter measures cannot be developed; RMT company's adapt very quickly to investigation means so we always need to evolve and adapt our methods.
For your concerns over placing in game calls, we had opted to send in game messages to you thanking you for the reports. We will also submit any names, if included, to our Task Force for further review. While the GMs handle "Terms of Service Violations" there are just some issues, like RMT, that required a special department to be created. The GMs can investigate some general reports, but the bulk of the investigation needs to be done by our Task Force. The in game message we send is to stop us from interrupting your game play; sometimes you are busy with fights and the GM tells can cause you to get distracted and die.
I wish I could offer you a more "personal" reply and say "Yes, I'll get right on Banning those folks now!" but it is not that easy. As was mentioned, we want to ensure the proper actions are taken and "innocent" players are not unjustly punished. At the same time, we cannot reveal any action taken on accounts due to our Privacy Policy.
I will leave this thread open, but but if the Forum rules are violated, we can opt to close this thread at any time. In addition, we may not offer any further replies
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

I personally think that one of the most important methods of eliminating RMT is by players not buying their gil or accounts in the first place. If they have no customers they have no market.
Also: Having a game community that actively discourages vs enables RMTing within, is essential to keeping RMT out of business. If you see fellow players talking about gil buying, discourage it. I don't mean attacking them or insulting them, ask them why they think it is a good idea before they do it and perhaps provide them with some alternatives.
Why? because if they are considering buying gil, it is likely because they find it too hard to make gil on their own for whatever reason and advice as to how to do it the legal way might actually help. Give them a reason why it is not a good thing and what it actually does to the game. Believe it or not, without others informing them, some players actually do not realize that RMT is wrong and consider it a normal part of gaming. While it is not our job to inform them, it helps others to realize that there are possible, viable, attainable and efficient ways to legally make gil in this game.
Anyway, thanks again for answering SGM Jhanaka!

THREAD HIJACK!
Someone moved the Roegadyn Tail thread into the "Other" forum even though there have been and currently are other petion threads still floating around in the "General" forum. I beleive this was a CONSPIRACY to SILENCE the PEOPLE!Or an accidental relocation. Noticed a number of other threads got dos boot that day. Someone had a V8 I suppose....
ANYWAYS! There is still more to discuss and there are people who support the idea. I request that the thread be placed back into its original forum so the community can contribute and better help you understand how we feel about the issue.
Thanks for listening ^_^
Tail Option for Roegadyns Thread. Now with 100% more GENERAL included!

Hello Guys!
RMT is a very serious matter and we are sorry that it continues to plague our game. What we would like for you to do is take advantage of our Special Task Force reporting process. The Special Task Force was developed solely to investigate Real Money Trading and Third Party Program use. While the GM team is happy to take your reports via the /helpdesk system, the Special Task Force reporting feature also gives you control over who you report and when.
To place reports, simply go to our Support Center, click on FINAL FANTASY XIV and then the Contact button. Our Support Center is located at http://support.na.square-enix.com
Just to remind everyone, our Special Task Force does regular bannings for the purchase of Gil through these sites. In addition, many of these sites have key loggers and you run the risk of having your accounts compromised. Please take caution when venturing to these sites.
I will be closing this thread so please be sure to use the Link provided to report any suspected RMTs.
Thank you!

Isnt it nice of the mods to lock a thread so that cant get any real feedback on what they have to say
EDIT: which is really what this thread is about. Seriously instead of locking a thread with a stock letter answer why not answer players questions. If you did so there would not be 100 of these threads flying around. You would think after seeing this thread 1000 times you would tell us something more and not just disregard player concerns. Isnt that what the forums are for anyway?
Unfortunately I have used your "special task force" to report rmt on multiple occasions and these same rmt are at the same spot for hrs a day every day and nothing is ever done. So unless you want to tell us EXACTLY what info you want other than names, locations, websites, times, etc your so-called task force is flawed and we will continue to believe you think its no big deal BECAUSE nothing is ever done that we can see. I can understand investigations but some of these guys have been around for over a year.
And GMs are NOT happy to take your reports. You contact a GM for any suspicious activity or otherwise they just tell you to go report on the website. I have even contacted a GM about a pt who was training mobs to mpk us so they could have sole claim over a coffer and was told to refer to the website. (btw we were in the camp first and it was an exp pt, the coffer was just a bonus but they didnt care if we said the nm was thiers)
Yo if you dont how they are handling things then stop playing, plain and simple...

Xoo got this one earlier so I will let her reiterate ^^
Is this really how all of you answer issues in your life?
Don't like school? Don't go!
Don't like work? Don't go!
Don't like your neighbor? Kill them!
Don't like your left arm? Chop it off!
Cop out response that pretty much says, "I don't like what you said, but I can't really say why". Learn to argue.

I actually had a no-gil buying rule in my ffxi ls. Esp since we would actively farm high selling scrolls and drops via bcnm for the ls weekly to split among the participating members. If you were busted buying gil your pearl was busted, which was not the best move as we were extremely active and were able to make players alot of money if they needed it. Funny having that be a rule stated on the site with the consequences known how many ppl would let it slip and then all but beg for another chance lol. But we had a good core group that were together for years so events were never lacking in participants making loosing a few ppl not so bad overallAlso: Having a game community that actively discourages vs enables RMTing within, is essential to keeping RMT out of business. If you see fellow players talking about gil buying, discourage it. I don't mean attacking them or insulting them, ask them why they think it is a good idea before they do it and perhaps provide them with some alternatives.

Don't like school? Don't go! -- You have to succeed in school to make something out of your life, and you have to go if your under 18 unless you dropped out
Don't like work? Don't go! -- You have to work to be able to survive and make a decent living for yourself or else you will be a bum on the streets living in a card board box
Don't like your neighbor? Kill them! -- You can but that will land you in jail
Don't like your left arm? Chop it off! -- You can do that but obviously its not a good thing to do
Heres one for ya
Playing an online video game and not liking how its ran:
Your doing that by your own choice, picking the game you want to play and paying for it on your own free will with the only consequence by not playing it is not playing it. Everything she said mentioned above all have harsh consequences that will land you in jail, on the streets, with one arm as well living in a psychiatric ward for an unknown amount of time.
Quitting a video game that your upset about is the most positive thing to do at the moment with very very very very minimal consequence besides possible boredom.
Xoo is being rather ignorant comparing apples to grenades. And no point was made except fror the fact she lets a video game meddle with her real life emotions like you do as well.
So now whats your super cool copy and paste quoting gonna do for ya?

I know alot of people that didn't finish school and make way more than I do.... in most places you only have to go til 16 if you don't live at home, etc etc etc. there are a lot of people who don't work, they're stay at home parents or struggling to find work. They survive. Circumstances that are commonplace make blanket statements retarded. Xoo's comparisons were meant to be extreme to draw attention to them. They're as stupid and useless as saying don't like it don't play without giving any reasons like people love to do.
If you can't appreciate an over the top response meant to draw attention to an underlying point.... then i support the statement Lurn2argue, cept i'd use debate.
Here's one for ya: Don't have anything to add to a thread? then stop posting, plain and simple.
