I will try to comment as I can on your points.

You mentioned you have placed a number of reports to the Special Task Force, and I wish I could offer more follow up on why you may still be seeing these people in game. The Special Task Force keeps their investigation means and agenda private so that counter measures cannot be developed; RMT company's adapt very quickly to investigation means so we always need to evolve and adapt our methods.

For your concerns over placing in game calls, we had opted to send in game messages to you thanking you for the reports. We will also submit any names, if included, to our Task Force for further review. While the GMs handle "Terms of Service Violations" there are just some issues, like RMT, that required a special department to be created. The GMs can investigate some general reports, but the bulk of the investigation needs to be done by our Task Force. The in game message we send is to stop us from interrupting your game play; sometimes you are busy with fights and the GM tells can cause you to get distracted and die.

I wish I could offer you a more "personal" reply and say "Yes, I'll get right on Banning those folks now!" but it is not that easy. As was mentioned, we want to ensure the proper actions are taken and "innocent" players are not unjustly punished. At the same time, we cannot reveal any action taken on accounts due to our Privacy Policy.

I will leave this thread open, but but if the Forum rules are violated, we can opt to close this thread at any time. In addition, we may not offer any further replies

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Thank you for the reply
I personally think that one of the most important methods of eliminating RMT is by players not buying their gil or accounts in the first place. If they have no customers they have no market.

Also: Having a game community that actively discourages vs enables RMTing within, is essential to keeping RMT out of business. If you see fellow players talking about gil buying, discourage it. I don't mean attacking them or insulting them, ask them why they think it is a good idea before they do it and perhaps provide them with some alternatives.

Why? because if they are considering buying gil, it is likely because they find it too hard to make gil on their own for whatever reason and advice as to how to do it the legal way might actually help. Give them a reason why it is not a good thing and what it actually does to the game. Believe it or not, without others informing them, some players actually do not realize that RMT is wrong and consider it a normal part of gaming. While it is not our job to inform them, it helps others to realize that there are possible, viable, attainable and efficient ways to legally make gil in this game.

Anyway, thanks again for answering SGM Jhanaka!
