Suggestion: Male Nipples

That's exactly what it is. Japan has it's own standards as to what constitutes "lewd" and nipples are something that generally catches the attention of censors. Even though western standards are different, this is just going to be too much hassle for SE to deal with for too little return.

There are other Final Fantasy titles with shirtless male characters showing nipples. Gladio is the 1st example I can think out of my head.

Is that really the reason? I always assumed it was a stylized choice. Also, I've seen anime with a clear mature rating (the Baki series on Netflix), where the men lack nipples.

Another more popular, opposite example is the Dragon Ball series, aimed towards kids, in which Goku and other male characters have been shown sporting nipples, even in the more recent Super series.

Sorry to go all otaku on you; I've consumed too much Japanese media in my lifetime.

I also think it's more about style than censors. As someone whose watched anime for years, I can probably count with my hands the amount of anime that showed male nipples regardless of age rating, with DBZ being the prime example and single one older than this decade - if anything, it seems to be a dying trend so....add them in the graphic overhaul SE! /shrugs

Well, there is a "The Body".

But pursuing it is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. You would not be able to learn this power from Square Enix.



Also it's funny how other MMO characters have nipples but we don't. Does ESO get a higher rating for displaying them?

I've seen bara artists draw way more flattering stuff than that unfortunate gremlin. Put it back, Blizzard. Hire someone who actually knows how to design hot men for once.

Also, personally I find them unappealing.

I'd only be okay with adding them to character models if there was an option to not have them.
