Just out of curiosity have you changed your config for XIV? Turned things like Ambient Occlusion off, can you post some FPS results?

I'm moving house so my PC is all packed up so figured I'd try game on laptop, my Laptop is: i5 Quad 2.53ghz, 4GB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. I run with the following specs: 720p, No AA, 6 GDQ, 1 BDQ, lowest Shadow detail (shows off ingame), Ambient/DoF/Cutscene all turned off, Hardware on, Texture boxes both Low. I cap top 30 FPS in towns and 40-50FPS when out doing leves on my own and no one is around. I also disabled sound device but i dont care much for sound on laptop but thats choice ofc, it wouldnt affect lag just load times (and by like 0.3 of a sec lol)

Hopefully my laptop spec and the settings will give you some idea, tho my laptop fans start going bonkers and sounds like an aircraft carrier lol.

When you pass Minimum you need to change the config to all Minimum settings, when it says Recommended the config will put you on "Recommended" specs, (or you can mess around yourself)

    Looking here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

My PC Card 5770 gets a 1646 score, yours gets 143 lol im surprised if it could play 3d chess XD

Download the XIV Benchmark and see your score, my laptop pushes out a lousey 500 score on LOW and is barely playable can be very laggy when casting magic and in camps. My Desktop pushes out 3500 on HIGH but I have to turn shadows off or it dips down to 30 FPS a lot.

Yeah mate you should definitely sell that laptop and get something else, I'm running XIV from Window's 7 (bootcamp) on my MacBook Pro and I'm having absolutely no problems at all.

Everyone, he's said several times that it is a desktop machine, not a laptop.

Lol, it's the gpu that throughs you off, we assume it's a laptop which in any case it doesn't matter. He's GPU is low end stock graphic card unless he purchased it lol... He needs better one atleast higher, 9800 GT up or new 460 gtx. he'll need a power supply depending on which he currently has.

The CPU is enough, but the GPU isn't. Get a 5750 or something like that and you'll be good ingame for barely over $100.

I picked up a 5550, and reduced the Sampling to No AA; and now it runs fine.\
    the 4200, was unfortunately Integrated.
got a great deal at Best Buy on the 5550, DDr 1GB tho... it was on sale for $20 off... and since walmart put the PC in the wrong spont, we had saved $100. what a deal.
thank you all, i've still spent less than $500 altogether to play the game; so i'm happy.

5550 is not a bad video card but it still a low end one i play this game on a 3870 512MB 256bit video card on high with a few thing turn off i dislike shadows so i turn that off and few others but it good you got your problem fix.

I was going to tell you that your 4200 was integrated most of the 4000 are mobo integrated video card.

What did I say? I'm glad you finally fixed your problem, your gpu was stock since you barely bought the desktop. I knew I was right hehe

Since I don't think anyone's addressed this yet...lower all your XIV settings to the lowest available, disable AA, depth of field & ambient occlusion.

Now log in and see if you still have the delay.

I had a similar delay during Beta3- part of it was all the crap SE was running to monitor game data, but turning off AA/DoF/AO during beta3 fixed my delay.

If your input delay fades on the VERY lowest settings, start slowly raising your settings until it comes back--to find your safe/stable spot.

If you still have the input delay on lowest settings, read every other post in this thread.

Uncheck ambient oclusion if you have it activated. Ambient Oclusion lowers the performance of almost every PC to a half.
