The WOW anticheat is Warden, and it was first added to Blizzard games in 2005, long before the AVR addon began trivialising mechanics in the Icecrown Citadel raid in 2010.

In fact, the AVR AddOn did not do anything prevented by the Warden anticheat scanning, and instead used entirely-legal API functions within WOW's sanctioned AddOn system.

Shortly after the ICC release, the WOW AddOn API itself was actually directly-changed to specifically break AVR's functionality.
