Does the average XIV player know how to play their jobs?

Idk maybe I’m playing some alternate reality version of the game but I think this idea that the general ffxiv player has a brain made of pudding is an over exaggeration. From what I’ve seen the average ffxiv player is…average lol. Dps generally do the bare minimum which is follow their rotation and use buffs at 120s. Healers almost always prioritise dps over healing which is exactly what they’re expected to do lol. Tanks generally use their cool downs and I’ve found most tanks will use their party based cool downs for big attacks as well.

This is just based on random duty finders but in my experience general players aren’t that bad lol. They’re not ‘that good’ either - just, well, average lol

Reckon personal experience is going to factor in a lot here.

I've been running a lot of the Normal raids to gear up some alt jobs since they unlocked the loot rules. If the other DPS use their party buffs every 120s that's an above average run for me.
