When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
SE is well aware of the issue, and they have made multiple attempts tofixband-aid the situation. They've done everything except what actually must be done. That 'must' is limiting housing to one per account, and pulling the trigger. The thing is, if they do this all the players who own multiple plots will lose them. The gil and time they've poured into them will be gone in an instant, and while that is absolutely fine by me and those who do not currently own any plots; this move would be catastrophic for SE. I can't put a rough figure of the percentage of subs they would inevitably lose, but their marketing team has deemed it large enough to not make this move.
There is no question they effed this up big time. Their lack of foresight, and common sense really regarding this matter has left them in an impossible situation. Many will say to just release instanced housing, but this will never happen in FFXIV's lifetime. And even if they did, it very likely would not be what players think it would be. It would be brand new content that does not adhere to current housing standards. That might be fine for some players, but many will continue to be disappointed and dub it as another failed attempt to remedy this situation.

Very sad to see that happen since it takes time and energy to keep a post alive. I would have loved to come here and jump into a current mega thread though.
