Been stuck on the exact same early EW quest for over a year now

I hate that girl in green and I want her head removed from her body so bad. I've tried over and over and get pissed off beyond belief that I don't return to the entire EW zones for months because I don't want to even have to think about that B.

Anyone else ever get stuck on such an insanely stupid idea of a quest that you avoid almost everything to do with it?

I failed it twice because someone was farming the poisonous plants and kept dragging them into the area. It was annoying but a year? It’s not that hard. Take your time and hide more than you think you need to. They didn’t even get nasty and have her quickly turn around after she starts running which I was 90% sure she would.

Tough luck. Many people on these forums agree that Final Fantasy XIV has the best gameplay of any MMO, even surpassing many single-player Final Fantasy titles. Critics gave Endwalker a 92 on Metacritic. If Jesus made an MMO, he probably would've made this one. In fact, given that FFXIV saved Square Enix from death while God is still smiting people today, I'd say FFXIV is good candidate for the Second Coming. Suffice to say, clearly you don't enjoy our critically-acclaimed gameplay and story, so you should probably stop while you're ahead.

I honestly don't see how anyone could be stuck on this quest as long as the OP claims to be unless they're one of those 1 braincell so can only use 1 button ppl...

Well I had the same feeling with that stupid "In from the cold" quest. I was SO pissed, not only because it was difficult, but because I was forced to play this stupid character... My motivation was basically non existent. However. What I want to say is that I play this game to have fun. When the opposite is true and this game makes me angry - then I turn it off. Eventually I will come back and finish this stupid quest. Or not. And SE will lose a customer. Or the people are just that inconsistent and SE sells another expansion to them, gametime AND a story skip so they can be stuck at the next stealth-quest in 7.0 anyway.

Not everyone is here for a challenge. Not everyone finds the same things challenging. And sometimes people can't be bothered to finish even the easiest stuff when it gives them the slightest resistance because they simply don't want to.

Like I want to be the bad guy and remove the blood from her body that's how much I loathe and hate her. I want to remove her skin. I really really really hate this quest and if I have to do any more of these I'm done with this game until a story skip is available. I don't care about the games story anymore.

I did it a completely odd way.

I figured out her path from a few failed attempts... and then didn't go anywhere near her path, but went through the ruins close enough to her path that she never "got away" nor did she ever see me.

There are fairly obvious places they want you to hide. She walks and then looks around each time, there's no "trick" to it. If it's driving you THAT mad there are youtube videos of exactly what to do. It never changes.

I understand we are all at different skill levels but this one isn't a matter of adjusting or difficulty. Just waiting and moving forward when you're supposed to.

There is a quest quite soon (not required but has a flight aether locked by it) where theres a boy who backtracks and looks at where you're probably hiding and you have to move. if this current quest is frustrating you this much then yes, wait till there's a story skip cause it's going to happen again and worse.

No, I played a lot of hideo kojima games in the past.
It's full of rocks, trees and the pattern is predictable. Just relax and it's done in 2 minutes.

That just goes to show that SE can put the bar on the ground and some people will still complain. All the more reason to not do that in the first place if the end result stays the same anyway. Your typical AAA game is so infested with that mindset. Map markers, mini maps, golden, glowy pathways, go to the spot and press X etc. The whole Ubisoft formular. I'm so glad BotW and Elden Ring sold millions. lol

This is reminding me of a tragic Tower of Zot run that I got in progress a few months ago. When I spawned in, there was only a healer and another dps; apparently their last tank had left as well. The healer in the group said she'd been stuck on this dungeon for a month. Apparently, somehow, no group she was in could clear it. They'd all wipe and disband. I was there on my DPS and definitely wasn't planning on wiping and disbanding, but the queue was still trying to find a tank. We sat around for like 10 minutes when finally I was just like "I'll just come back in on my tank, brb." I left, swapped over to WAR, and requeued the dungeon with "in progress" still enabled. Then I waited. And waited. And it never popped. So I just assumed it must have found her a tank right as I left.

I sent her a /tell 45 minutes later to ask her how it went and to apologize for not being able to come back, but it showed her as still in the duty. I fear she may still be stuck there to this day. O_O;
