Jesus Christ, a grown adult throwing a tantrum over a small forum thread.jesus christ, a bunch of grown adults throwing tantrums over a small request for a handful of extra idle poses because "muh transgender sjws are coming to take our traditional gender roles away!!!"
thanks for proving once again that these forums are just a congregation of the most miserable people in this game's playerbase. fully gendered idle poses are an extremely bizarre hill to die on as some supposed last bastion of true masculinity/femininity, but i'm glad you're dead nonetheless
Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

I can foresee the next topic 1 year from now:
-(It’s time) Hide Ungendered Sit poses please.
“ I just want to be able to turn off other players (sit poses) displaying on my client. That way they can "Express" themselves all they want, and I don't have to suffer another (male sitting ungenderedlishly).
Unlock all poses and cosmetics for the sake of more options on how a player presents their character to the world.
Whether that be idle weapon poses - animations and so on.
It adds just a little bit more spice and visual variance.
And it may even clue you in to how that player wants to portray their respective character to the world.
You see a male Roe model daintily crossing their legs? Nifty.
A petite female Au Ra model with their legs spread to the widest setting? Cool.
Options are rad. And player choice is something I’d advocate for.
LMAO we went there probably because it was only a few pages ago that the argument was "I don't want SE to unlock the idles/sits for both genders because I'm tired of a certain demographic of players always getting what they want, when SE is already catering so much to them." and "I respect the decision to keep the genders separated because sitting like a man is unfeminine."What a dumpster fire of a thread. How did we go from unlocking poses to whether or not women can wear tuxedos? I swear some people on both sides are just looking to derail any thread involving gender into a chance to push their views on the topic of gender as a whole.
Getting back on the actual topic, if we're going to have more sit poses then we need a better way to cycle through them than just /cpose. A list that long with no way to manually select would be a pain to navigate. I'm for the idea though for the sake of variety and while we're at it, unlock all of the sit poses for all races so everyone can use them all. Just, give a list or a wheel or more text commands for easier selection.
while they are allowed to have that view on things.[no matter how questionable, theyll show themselves out eventually]<Those users are the source of all that. we ain't gonna cover again why it's ridiculous to bring their views into a simple 4-5 option question>(and I mean this in a, i don't want the game to be forcing things onto players the may not want unnecessarily. Hence why I'm for hiding player glamour toggle for those who don't want to see it. just throw it, it shows a random idle no unlocked. but that's kinda getting off-topic)LMAO we went there probably because it was only a few pages ago that the argument was "I don't want SE to unlock the idles/sits for both genders because I'm tired of a certain demographic of players always getting what they want, when SE is already catering so much to them." and "I respect the decision to keep the genders separated because sitting like a man is unfeminine."
There are many options when talking about suggestions. the two extremes(2 options) half way to one extreme(2 more options) and the middle(one more option). <whilst both a Emote System Update/Toggle. +|- Hide Player Customization Option. would form the Both extremes at once Option>[6]
That said, people don't also have to feel forced to make a choice.
But many either for or against brought many irrelevant things.[I know I brought in Adjacent things that would improve the system as to please as many players as possible. but some will hold no matter what]
There is nothing that cannot be discussed and agreed upon.<unless others bring things not related to the game in. like expecting players to have RL Worldview motives>
When I'm reading posts I usually assume that sections where I'm quoted are for me and sections where others are quoted aren't. I may not have read everything you meant for me if it was under other people's quotes.Have you paid any attention to my replies to Padudu and to yourself? Padudu brought up the fact that there is a mod that does exactly what this very thread requests and tried to cite it as an example that "a lot of people" were looking for this specifically to be added. However, the numbers provided proved otherwise. 8+ thousand downloads and 30+ thousand views, while not insubstantial numbers on their own, is a drop in the bucket to the estimated 25+ million players. If anything it serves to prove my point.
What I am trying to convey to you, that you seem to be determined to ignore, is that there are proveable numbers to show the interest of this idea and they seem to be on the low side.
So unless you can provide proof to the contrairy it'll take more to "call me out" than just saying "nuh-uh!"
How is this an "obvious improvement"? For it to be "improved" it must have first been lacking or flawed, which it isn't.
Anyway, on the subject of mod counts, you're comparing downloads to 25 million players. What exactly does that tell us? Not everyone uses mods, not everyone plays the same way. Of those 25 million, how many are English speaking, since it was an English site that the mods came from right? I don't think JP and European users would search for the same downloads as US players. I myself want unlocked emotes, but I have zero mods for such a thing. So is the download count accurate, or is underrepresentative of the demand? Lastly I'm pretty sure all of this was brought up after you said the pro unlock side was small. So again, when you said that, there was no supporting evidence.
I'm trying to think of anything in game besides the auto cpose that links emotes together in a list as that could lead to an easy way to implement custom emote lists. I can't really think of anything except for parasols which basically come with their own cpose. I'm not sure if this is actually possible, but maybe we could have dummy accessory items that are just pose packs and add the poses that way.Getting back on the actual topic, if we're going to have more sit poses then we need a better way to cycle through them than just /cpose. Ideally though, the pose system should be redesigned completely to be customizable. Since there is a graphics overhaul planned, now seems like a good time to ask for this.
Some of us play mviera because guess what? Some of our favorite NPCs use Viera faces. Do you honestly think I'd be playing Elidibus as a male viera if I could use his hair on a middy? Helllll no lol. Besides, some of us can get the same look through texture mods, and do, and you don't even know it, so where is it harming "your racial/gender identity"?One of the more common requests on here is asking for male viera hair on all races and genders so I really can't believe that it's not about just taking things that make the races and genders unique one by one.
I have had the "I wish I had that" but then I realize I have things to my own race or gender that are cool and I forget about it. I can't wear hats, I can't use a lot of glam options, but I have some that are great, and I just use those.
The thing is I don't want what's unique about my characters gender and race taken away from it. If Miqo and Aura have the same options as I do but also have hats and legacy armor glam, why would I ever play viera?
That person is really stuck on the fact that I pulled up mod downloads huh lol. The number of downloads ultimately isn't important. What is important is that you can't just say "oh the number of people who want unlocked poses is small, the forum is small!" while simultaneously rejecting the fact that outside the forum, people who mod or have access to them, download gendered poses themselves. You can't just put blinders on bcos it doesn't support your narrative lmao. My whole point is that there is, indeed a number of players who might not vocalize the want for it, but they will search for means to get it. Those people still matter. When I'm reading posts I usually assume that sections where I'm quoted are for me and sections where others are quoted aren't. I may not have read everything you meant for me if it was under other people's quotes.

Anyways, at least me throwing a tangible number, however small is better than sticking to "it's a small amount of people, trust me" and shading a potential possibility that it may not be as small as they want it to be.
As for the actual topic, I think listing the poses like mount roulette would be ideal, or maybe most feasible? Select the idles that you want and will show up in rotation.
So then there's no point in bringing it up. You don't get to arbitrarily get to decide what information can and can't be gleaned from it.
That's not contradictory in any way. You're literally saying here that "The fact that there ARE people who mod is an argument enough to include it" as if the actual # doesn't matter. It does. What is important is that you can't just say "oh the number of people who want unlocked poses is small, the forum is small!" while simultaneously rejecting the fact that outside the forum, people who mod or have access to them, download gendered poses themselves.
More poses are always nice!
