It's time (Option to Hide other players Glamour)

well, this is a selfish outlook, but in a game with control over how my character looks, i also want to retain that control into how they're perceived, if i want them to be wearing a specific, fitting armor set to them, i don't want to be wearing a bum rag clown set on someone else's screen, defeats the whole point of character customization anyways.

You already are that way for the people who use mods. Knowing this should let you acknowledge that you don't have control over it already.

I'm going to say people's upbringing is the cause of at least 70% of the conflict here.

You get people who grew up in VERY strict conservative areas, and they tend to lean more towards the "half naked video game characters are bad and should be censored...even if they are at a beach".

Where as the people who weren't brought up in as strict a setting are typically going to be more open to things.

Then there is also the "my way or the highway" group...and well, you see many examples in here of that, from both sides.

What about those that simply have the desire to have more angecy and control over their own personal gameplay experience. In my case has nothing to do with upbringing, I am one of those people that wears the crazy dyed Pepehelm. I just acknowledge that people may not want to see my wacky helm in a CS, and while I will never take my helmet off or change my glam I do have no problem with others altering my appearance on their end to enhance their own in-game experience.

Just some ideas:

1. Simply turn off glamours, showing the base options.
2. Generic racial gear so we are "villagers" in town?
3. A basic low-level set of armor for your weight class in dungons?
4. Highest level wearable artifact armor per class for the player's level?
5. Base ARR-Artifact armor or lowest level available per class?
6. Someone suggested putting everyone in robes and masks. (Personally dislike this idea but it was a suggestion?)

This won't do anything though except show you put in a false report. You have no proof that the screenshot wasn't altered on your end nor do you have proof at one point you might not have looked like that in said picture from swapping to a set you forgot to glamour with a new piece of gear.

Just sayin'.

How would you know who to report? Don't you need the character name to make a report?

Most screenshots don't contain any relavent information that you could use to file a report. There would be no way of proving that the screenshot contains your character especially considering you use the same face and hair as 90% of the female midlanders I've seen. /shrug

Tbh, I prefer option six, but I could also see 2 or 5 being the most favorable.

Option 6 would fit with where this was lifted from. GW2 puts players in a low detail suit of armor when you enable that option.
My personal opinion is instead of this, they make some of the features of the visibility/voidlist plugin native to the game. Let us stop rendering all people not in our party/alliance/group. Let us mark specific players (stored locally) that just don't render in the game. Let us choose to disable pets or minions. Let us blacklist and block players mid-duty so we can stop seeing messages from them without leaving the duty.
All of those remove things that can distract, annoy, or cause performance issues so it's a win for players.

The only people who lose are people who would be voidlisted, but those people would be ignored anyways, so who cares.
