It has started to spiral out of control.

People owning entire wards has existed for as long as housing has, And its about time SQE step up and take responsibility for the atrocious system that allows this to happen.

Every single server on Materia, Dynamis and many of the NEW housing wards on older servers, are being bought up by the Airship bot community.

These bots make people ridiculous amounts of Gil per month, some even have enough to hit a Gil cap every single month.

Where does all this Gil go? RMT, Where else could it go? By now some of them would have Hundreds of Gil caps.

SQE need to flat out restrict what people can own per service account, housing is already a massively contested market, and grandfathering in people that have abused the system for years is not a good look.

People that own Multi FCs/Personals should be made to choose ONE of each, and get refunded the base cost of the rest. And allow these houses to go back on the market for other people to buy.

Its just getting rediculous when you see a small part of the community abusing the system for monetary gain over other player's ability to enjoy the game in general.

While I can't agree its rmt, housing should be 1 per account, it should have always been this.

I would say maybe expand that to one house per world, per account. But if they're doing that, they really need to ensure that alts on the same world have full access to any owned property.

People get around it, though. It's already 1 personal 1 FC per world: I have a personal, I inherited a FC house which means I can't get another house on any of my characters on Balmung. Any other server though, I can also do that.

HOWEVER, what people do is split off into Shell FCs to get multiple housing, or just... buy multiple service accounts to horde houses (I'm looking at a couple of very specific individuals). Imagine spending hundreds every month to horde virtual houses because "bUt I lIkE tO dEcOrAtE" yeah, so would plenty of other people. I would prefer SE look at the fact that people are getting around housing limits by doing that and pulling houses off of them, but they won't because it's money. (imagine an upside down smiley here, the forums don't like to display it, sadge)

While people bash the lottery, on the higher pop servers where a lot of the house hoarders are and have been, it's helping mitigate their ability to take over entire wards. Wish SE would do something about the new servers though, and just look through logs of "hmm, this person left this FC but made a new one with the exact same tag, is transferring money back to the one they left by way of selling a Bom Boko to their old FC lead on the marketboard.... perhaps it's a shell? Maybe we should do something about that??" and... idk, auto-demo their stuff. It'd stop the issue from happening more often, and yeah they'd find ways around that, but SE needs to step up and take action for FCs who do shells or the people who have entire wards because "but I like decorating and I like projects!!!!!" and make them choose 1 and put the rest back on the market.

SE had their chance to crack down on this years ago, but they opted to keep their gloves on. If they had done it then, things would be slightly better now. Not by much, but slightly.

Remind me again why people don’t want instanced housing, but come up with ideas like OP? I wish people would stop trying to punish players because of the housing systems poor design. The absolute only thing that is going to solve the FFXIV housing crisis is instanced housing. No matter how many ways people try to limit, demolish, punish people who already own a home, there will never be enough plots for everyone. The answer is simple, allow people who want instanced housing to have it and the people who refuse can live in the neighborhoods that already exist.

What about;
-To own a house your FC should be 3 months old with x amount of active players in your FC (new players/members doesn't count so we can avoid having mass recruiters)
-Be level 90 and finish current expansion.
-Have x number of commendations (bots don't queue so it could be a nice filter)
-Have the money required.
-Clear 1 savage fight of current patch (so you can't unsync Shb for example)


We need more filters, stop giving houses almost for free or to any new player(bot). Then SE should implement a system to maintain those houses (FC's) monthly or each 2-3 months (ask x amount of money/content/progress w.e)
