Out of curiosity, have you considered a Small? Mediums are like 17M+. Smalls are 3-4M, probably 5M once you've built the structure and bought furniture and stuff to deck it out.

I don't mean all this to rub anything in anyone's face or whatnot. I just find it odd how many people say they want a house, but then overlook all these Smalls. From my limited way of looking at it, a Small would be a great deal. I get all the amenities of a house for a fraction of the price of a Medium or Large, and with far more available plots (to have a better shot at one I like) and less competition for them. I'm not sure what the downside is...

Oh, I have had a small for years, previously on Excalibur, and I have one here on Marilith as well. I think all the mediums/larges are already sold on this world by now anyway, so it's fine. I might save up enough for a medium by the time new wards come out (probably not). If anyone wanted a small here, you can get one without competition, easily.

I get attached to things, so if I had a small (or an anything) for years, I'd probably not want to move, but I'm sentimental like that.

It's not just sentiment. When you create something that works for you and that feels unique it's hard to tear it down just for a bit of extra space. The layouts of smalls mediums and larges are all different and you'll never recreate what you did the first time. If we could save housing layouts the way we do glamour plates (including all our glitches, floats and tricks) that would be ideal. The fun of housing is in the decorating but moving on always means tearing down. Like if every time you wrote a novel they burned all your previous ones. But yes smalls can be great. I've never bid on anything larger and I have enough gil to buy a good part of an entire ward at this point.

Mari might still have some larger plots available tbh. Larges are prob gone but mediums are still iffy with the 10-12 ward fixes. I mean, I was able to find a medium with 0 so..

My Marilith small is close to my old one, and for that matter, my old plot location is empty in my ward as well. So no real issue here! I tend to get attached too, but moving here was a pretty much guarantee for a small, and I had no ties to anybody in my previous ward either.

I wish I hadn't spent all my gil on dyes then (although..)! I know a medium in my current ward was abandoned and sold with about 8 bidders very recently. I need like 7 million gil..
