Sad with lottery results

I just came to vent. I have been looking for a house for 18 months. No luck. I thought this was my chance. Finally got money and tons of plots! I bid on a plot, I was alone yesterday night I went to sleep.
Woke up today to see someone else bid and was the winner. I am just so f***ed up that I cant get a house in this game. But nothing to do about it.

Yeah it's a feelbad system. I placed my bid first-thing Sunday morning, checked it at 11pm Thursday night, still only 2 bids, Friday morning #3 has won. Just bad timing, but it was really, really disheartening thing to see after getting home from an appointment that ended with "we'll let you know in a few weeks if it's cancerous." To return and see the plot had been sniped by a last-second lucy, ruined the rest of the day. There's got to be a better way.

I checked 2 minutes before the deadline. I was only bidder login to find 5 other bidders and one of them won. They just need to go to instant housing or make housing plots all the same size where can put a small to large house on them.

I have a plot but I can understand the frustration. Its one of the biggest selling points and features of the game that they advertise. And yet it feels like only 10% of the player base can access it.

I had the same Issue. I was the only one bidding. Who won: Oh yeah, the last minute scammer. Like for real? What is the purpose of the 9 days span then? WHY THE F is Square pissing on us so much? I mean, what did we do to them? We had to fight against bots and trolls. Instead of banning these idiots, they just gave us free Depression in a 9 day Cycle of "here good luck on that"-System. If people would have the time, to get a Plot in front of a placard spamming good for them, but if u don't have the time to do that, why would you even get the chance to get a House, where u ALSO HAVE NO TIME FOR. But why would you bring in a system that pisses off everyone else, putting salt into the wound to with the "Run back to the plot to get your money" bullshittery. Yeah great invention and brainstormed Ideas there. They should make it this way, to get all the same plots where u can spend money and build up your house. On the other hand, it would've helped to deactivate "FC-people spam tickets" (everyone in the FC can bid for the same gil) or just make it impossible to be a last minute bidder by making the price rise to immense amounts of gil that noone can easily achieve on a normal way. Honestly reading your post reminds me of the erstwhile "walk of shame" I had earlier. Winner passed me and pretty much dabbed on me (literally found out that it's an FC mate who did that, lol). I guess my feelings are a bit sensitive in this regard, but it definitely leaves a sour taste. Would hate to think what more active servers have going on.

Believe it or not, people can have obligations IRL that can prevent them from logging on to FF14 for days on end. My friend has a job that continuously sends them out to places where they'd be lucky to get in-game without D/Cing due to unstable internet, or speeds so slow you'd thought it was 1995. Not to mention people can be locked out of power for days on end in the event of major storms, like the huge winter one that passed through the vast majority of Canada & The USA during late December that knocked out power for half my city for 3 days. Not to mention the JP work ethic where there is a cultural pressure to work overtime &/or late hours, go out drinking with workmates/bosses etc.

While you're quite emotional charged, do try to see past your anger and understand the 5 day window to enter is Square being considerate of the fact not everyone lives online 24/7 and that stuff happens. Since that window allows 99% of lottery entry patterns to have at least one day on a weekend where people tend to be much more free.

As a sprout on Seraph; I've already realized I will likely never get a house. Why? Because by the time I am higher level and have the money; they will all have gone to people who only transferred to Seraph to own a house; but DC travel for all their gameplay.

I'd be fine with an apartment except for the gardening aspect. Still; it feels like a bloody insult.

After this lottery result, I've given up on ever getting a house. Outdoor furnishings are going right in the bin.
