At what point does the rabbit hole end? I don't want to see Lalafells in my party because they break my immersion. I don't believe they would actually be effective in combat and it's ruining my fantasy. Can I have them replaced with Hyurs? I don't like glowing weapons. They're too bright. Can I turn off weapon particle effects? I don't like certain hairstyles like like the pompadour. Can I force everyone to be bald? DNC is a joke job and I don't think my warrior of light would be supported by a DNC. Can I make them replace their animations with BRD's?

At the end of the day, it's selfish to demand others look the way you want them to look in a game that, like it or not, is a multiplayer game.

No one is requesting any of those things, you're being hyperbolic and putting words in people's mouths. Why don't you try actually responding to what was suggested instead of coming up with some ridiculous slippery slope scenario?

My last post on this ridiculous thread, because I refuse to feed this idiocy any further.

I've stated my points as to why I disagree with being able to disable seeing other's glamours, primarily because it undermines the spirit of the whole system. Yet you lot refuse to even acknowledge my point of view. In fact many of you keep claiming I haven't even presented an argument which is either dismissive and disingenuous at best, or delusional at worst. I've actually acknowledged that I understand your concerns, and I agree that it's not always fun seeing ridiculous glams all the time. That said, I simply disagree that chipping away at the integrity of the system by letting people optionally disable seeing other's glamours is more beneficial than harmful to the spirit of it.

It's simply a matter of opinion, on both sides, yet many of you can't even concede that other people are well within their right to disagree with your point of view. You just stick your fingers in your ears and go on rabid tirades of personal attacks against anyone that doesn't wholly agree with you.

I personally would not care. Although male Miqo'te and Viera in general are better examples of that lorewise.

Let us know when you come up with an actual reason not to do this.

I've played MMO for decades. MMOs aren't about someone else's glamour. Early MMOs didn't require much cooperation either, but that is not the subject here.

Delusional. You could barely get past the entry level zone in EverQuest without grouping by level 5 or so unless you were a specific pet class. How solo-friendly MMOs became since is not even relevant that they are still SOCIAL/SHARED WORLD games at their core, not your personal sandbox.

I never said MMOs are about glamours. But character creation, customizatinon, fashion, and expression has always been a core feature of MMOs, and very important to most players.

Anyway going to sit back and relax, the designers of MMOs know what they are doing, and know not to listen to the few antisocial people in threads like this who can't get over other players having agency over their characters in an MMO!

My "valid criticism" is what MMO Devs agreed with for decades. Not only do they agree, they spend more and more time on fashion, cosmetics, and character customization. Clearly it's vital to the success of an MMO. You have no valid point. If you did, maybe a dev anywhere in the genre might take you up on this insipid idea.

There are MMOs out there that allow this to happen anyway. And devs from various companies in various countries didn't go into a room together one day and decide that glamour means everyone has to view said glamour. This is some weird fantasy of yours. And even if they did, that does not mean a company could not change that policy.

Once again, a valid point is needed. You have no actual reason to want to restrict this feature.
