It's only pointless to you and you are not the end all be all.it's rare that I'll openly say a thread is entirely pointless but in this case it is.
there's no way square is going to agree to... not make money. full stop. they're a company, we exist under capitalism and people are willing to spend anywhere from a few dozen to hundreds or even thousands of bucks to make themselves look the way they wish. cashshop glams and fantasia sales would probably take a significant hit. i would be surprised that if someone employed by square were to suggest this that they wouldn't be laughed out of the room by a bunch of executives and managers who assumed it was them attempting to make a joke.
People have already said numerous times that Guild Wars 2 has this feature and their income is soley from cash shop items such as cosmetics yet people still play that game.

Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

People are asking to have this become an in-game feature. Just like all the other in-game features that allow you to disassociate with people and things you do not like. The one side is just using the features available to them in-game. It's not exactly a sign of '' respect '' if you so nobly and humbly agree of their use of the in-game features to dress as they will, AS LONG AS you don't have to look at them. What kind of respect is that lmao. This whole discussion is just absurd.
That being said, I'd be all for players also being given the option to apply galmours to other characters, even though that doesn't seem feasible.
See, that's the thing. I don't care. I respect that people can dress the way they want. And i respect that not everyone has to like it or want to see it. At the end if the day, it comes down to the fact that it would have absolutely no effect on the glamour-wearer. Nothing would change for them. At all. Not a single thing. Their game experience would be the exact same as it was before a feature like this was implemented.
Chat is an in-game feature, as well, but you're still allowed to block and mute people you don't want to see. I don't see any outrage or discomfort about that, yet it's the same premise.
I do agree with you, however, that this conversation is absurd. Because it is made to be deeper than it is. It is not a big deal.
you're reaching for straws comparing a game made by japanese devs that prioritize japanese players to another MMO made by another company in another country with an entirely different culture that also barely resembles ffxiv and i don't wanna hear diddly squat about how i wouldn't know since i have a decent grasp of the language and translated countless things for people on this forum before.
have you looked at square's CEO? read his posts? dude is 500% into monetization and the only reason why we have to go into an inn and "sleep" in the bed to try on cash shop items is because yoship for years and years has pushed back against trying to monetize the game any more than it currently is. if the businessmen at square had it their way the game would harass you every 30 seconds to buy a fantasia.
square would sell you to satan for a cornchip.

Obviously some people care or this wouldn’t be a discussion. I’m on the side of freedom of choice. You are here arguing against me for what? I don’t know your position. All I know is you tried a “gotcha” with misinformation. Making you wrong by sticking your foot in your mouth.
Now for the umpteenth time.
People are free to express themselves.
Nothing is being taken from anyone.
An option to toggle is being requested for people who wouldn’t give you the attention you seek from people you yourself don’t even know exist.
You wouldn’t have awareness this is being used and can still imagine people you don’t talk to and don’t acknowledge see you as you present yourself.
You matter to these people as much as they matter to you. Zilch
You’re getting angry over what someone else sees on their screen which is an expression of who they are as much as your outfit is of who you are.
This truly, in reality, does not harm you nor take away anything from you.
Glamour isn’t who you are and you have other ways to express yourself. Getting bent out of shape over public discourse tells me far more about you than what shirt your character is wearing
Those against this do you feel those that do not want to lift glamour restrictions have a valid position and it is a perfectly reasonable take, even though removing the restriction does not impact those that want to keep them since they can personally choose what glamour to use?
Official thing. I should not have to resort to mods to customize my experience so that I don't have to endure people's desire to "express" their ridiculous popoto race.
(btw I think Lalas are awesome and I'm just making a point. If you want to deactivate player's glam, their race and for example makeup choices should also be customizable for the same reasons.)
I'm on the side of freedom of choice as well. But you're right, I was mistaken.Obviously some people care or this wouldn’t be a discussion. I’m on the side of freedom of choice. You are here arguing against me for what? I don’t know your position. All I know is you tried a “gotcha” with misinformation. Making you wrong by sticking your foot in your mouth.
